As per Shanu Air Canada killed his dad. They could have simply done an emergency landing and saved his father but they never landed. They let a person suffer for 9 hours after an heart attack until they land !!

Sorry to hear about this unfortunate situation but I been on a flight back from Canada in 1999 and there were two near fatalities and the plane had to do emergency landing on Banff bay and patients were transferred to the local hospital. I spoke to the attendants and they told me that it was a regular occurrence. 🙏

As per Montreal convention you can only get small amount of money and that is the reason AirCanada made a business decision not to divert as diversion would have costed lot of money. I have written to everyone including Canadian transport minister, Director general of civil aviation, PMO office in Canada but seems they are not interested to take any action against AirCanada as they have no respect for an Indian Citizen’s life. Corporates are very strong here as government gets funding from them. I am anyways writing to them regularly and asking for justice. Best part is for the safety of our loved ones boycott this airlines as this can happen with you also.

I am very sorry for your loss. Every airline follows a different set of medical guidelines. But what the general process is.... 1. Call for medical backup. And simultaneously page for a doctor. And inform the pilot. 2.Loosen tight clothing 3. Recline the seat and administer immediate oxygen. 4.Check temperature pulse and respiration. 5. If symptoms are found to be similar to heart attack. (profuse sweating, breathlessness, radiating chest pain from the chest to the hand , little finger, back and jaw, vomiting). 6.If he is in and out of consciousness he can't be given water. So the first sobitrate is given under the tongue...... To dilate blood vessels. And the tablet can be repeated after 15 min. When he gains his consciousness he should have been given disprin dissolved in water. The crew are trained to administer these medications. And is accessible to them.... 7. They will immediately attach an A.E.D. Shave the chest. Remove jewellery and attach the pads to deliver the shock. The machine monitors the heart rhythm until landing. But rescue breaths are given via ambu bag or manually. (Vital signs to be checked every 10 mins) 8.During this period the captain will communicate the seriousness of the situation. And reroute to the closest location. 9. If you were flying over any aerodrome it would roughly take 20 to 30 min to do an emergency landing. 10. There is a bp machine on the aircraft. And some life saving medication however the crew are not authorized to open it without a doctor. I hope this helps. May his soul rest in peace. May god give u'll the strength to cope.

I recently was air India 🇮🇳 flight from Delhi to jfk New York. They announced emergency need of trained healthcare professionals for a passenger in her late 80,s with medical problems. Me and another Registered nurse on the flight ✈️ helped the patient. I wish I was there on this flight. I could have helped your dad. I don’t think most flight ✈️ Carrie’s BP monitor. For this pt that we helped needed Bp monitor, we had to borrow it from a fellow passenger. We found out her Bp was so elevated and upon asking patient had missed her last dose of Bp tablets. She took her missed tab right away and she was in the end fine. Except that the airline gave a 🎁 to another nurse right infront of me excluding me. I felt bad but later I said to myself that the passenger is now well which is all that matters.

Sadly, my father was caught in a very unfortunate circumstance in a very inhuman airlines called Air Canada. I still wonder why it had to happen to my father?? Asians are emotional people and think from their heart, but the world here is purely materialistic. For them money matters the most, and they proved this so brutally. I understand that nothing can get your dad back, but at least the airlines must respect a human life over their business interests. Also, I assume that you are legally allowed to make videos in a public place (not sure if inside an aircraft would be considered a public place) and nobody can stop you from doing that. They did not allow this only because that would have gone against them. Very sad. Lastly, I would suggest anybody and everybody to have at least basic medical knowledge as to what to do in such emergencies. Your dad was lucky to be able to make if for such a long time during the flight otherwise, if someone is going to live or die is decided in the first hour of having the attack. Sadly, looks like he could have been saved had he got immediate medical attention.

I am ex cabin attendant and on my flights I have seen heart attack patients too . We do know about sobitrate and other medicines and elevating the leg and oxygen is the first thing which we give if asked and if we see its needed . We never deny and also we have diverted our flights so many times for medical emergency. Our pilots are also very understanding, they also come out to see if its an emergency and required , atlst after flight the pilots should have come . They were guilty and couldnt face you , they feared what answer will they give . This great loss is definitely due to sheer negligence on the part of the crew. I was an airhostess and the first thing we learnt to do in such a situation is to give oxygen immediately and loosen his clothing. This very basic duty has not been done by the Air Canada crew. We fully understand what you went through. We will pray to Buddha to bless your father. You definitely deserve compensation for the great loss. Please take care n don't give up. ❤️

None of the passengers came forward to help. One of the passengers was trying to take a video, and was shunned by the air hostess, right in front of my eyes. I don’t know about the rest. There was only one senior lady from Punjab, who was sympathetic during the flight. We are living in an inhumane world.

Air Canada broke my grandmas hip. The wheelchair that my grandma had requested from air Canada the guy forced my grandma to grab her baggage from the carousel and someone knocked her down. Her first visit to Canada she arrived on a stretcher. They didn’t even provide us video evidence.

If there is any Doctor in any flight they don't disclose themselves. You know why ,it's not that they don't want to help, but they know if something happens, when the plane will land first thing people do is sue that doctor. So it's us who actually stopped doctors from helping during the flights, because they don't want to be sued.

God….how can Air Canada do this - hopeless staff, service & airline.😟 So Sorry for your irreplaceable loss.😟 Extremely irresponsible, unprofessional & useless Airline 😡😟 They charge so much Air fare like crazy & don’t even have basic First Aid or any sense of humanity to help such a senior aged ill person. It was definitely an Emergency right away. Any normal person can understand this. And they should have immediately made an announcement to enquire if there is any Doctor on board. Someone could have helped your Dad.😟 They should have helped you as it was their responsibility to take an immediate action of the passenger traveling with their Airline.
