I think you just helped define the phrase micro climate. This is what I've been waiting for 👍

Good start…I’m not much of a hot weather camper…this AC issue is the main reason. I like having a work around…good to know …I guess I need a new tent🤷🏻♂️

I hear ya! There is no way I could tent camp during the Florida summer without having this A/C set up
@a0groovy Жыл бұрын
yeah, when it shuts down blowing, hit the eco button it should start blowing again, if it gets too cold hit mode and when it start getting hot hit mode to cool again if you raise the temp it will be cheating the whole idea of getting frozen. haha. stay cool!

Wow I never thought to do that. Thanks for sharing this information! I’ve been wanting to camp again here in Atlanta but the heat 😂

I appreciate this video lots of good tips on the air-conditioning system hook up I've been looking for something like this for a while and you gave me a lot of good ideas on how to stay cool when you're camping

Keep the temperature to it's lowest degree shouldn't shut off. And make sure it's not on the eco mode.

Thanks for the tip! I’ll try that next time 👍🏼

Great video bro , is the 20amp outlet all you can use for tent camping or is there a adapter to go with the 30amp to reduce it down to where more stuff can be plugged in ?
@WhereisHammer Жыл бұрын
I just used an extension cord plugged into the 30 amp electrical outlet, and placed an adapter on the end of the extension cord to create more outlets so I can plug additional things into it.
@davenstorm7271 Жыл бұрын
@@WhereisHammer The 30amp outlet is to the left of your extension cord. The outlet you have your cord plugged into is the 20amp .
@WhereisHammer Жыл бұрын
@@davenstorm7271 Oh I see, in that case I’ve never used a 30amp outlet before. I’ve only used 20amp. However , I did find some 30amp outlet adapters with 20amp plugs on Amazon. Hope this helps. amzn.to/3K5h6cI
@davenstorm7271 Жыл бұрын
@whereishammer Yeah you can buy the 30amp cord at wall mart for about 20 bucks then buy a 20 Amp adapter to fit the 30amp plug , put you another extension cord to run a ton more things like a microwave or what ever !

I hang my A/C from ropes out of the tree then move the tent into the A/C above, and throw a sleeping bag over it all to force the cool air down into the tent.
@WhereisHammer Жыл бұрын
Wow!That’s interesting . Never thought of doing it that way .

you need add a fan to keep air moving, or put ac fan on continuous.

Can't you use a regular window if your tent doesn't have an AC window? Of course, you would have to cover the unused portion, but I wouldn't think the AC window is a must.
@WhereisHammer4 ай бұрын
Yes you can, basically you can put the AC unit up to any mesh area on the tent but as you mentioned you’ll need to make sure to block the remaining surface area to prevent cold air from escaping.

I haven’t seen any videos of someone trying to use a Cabela's Outdoorsman Series 5,000W/4,000W RV-Ready Portable Generator for a tent and a portable air conditioner. Is it possible to do?
@WhereisHammer9 ай бұрын
I’m sure you can. As long as the generator has an AC electrical outlet to plug the AC unit in then it should work. However I’m not sure how much watts the AC unit will need. Also some campgrounds might have restrictions on the usage of generators .
@GHOST-gq5dk5 ай бұрын
Is this a 5000 or 6000 BTU ac unit?
@WhereisHammer5 ай бұрын
It’s a 5000 BTU unit . It cools off the tent very well.
