I have had the privilege / luck to fly in the A380 in First class, Business class and Economy class, mostly with Emirates, I can honestly say the A380 is magical, no matter what class you fly in. As per Concorde we produce the best in the world working together (UK/ Europe) It's such a pity the world is so fu(ked up at the moment not enabling these beauties to fly. I miss travelling.
@mariussudol503 жыл бұрын
My favorite word in the English language is "airborne". I did have a chance to fly A380 in the recent past between Singapore and Europe. The aircraft was named "New York", the city I love. The service was superb and the flight was as smooth as cutting butter during a picnic on a warm summer day. I loved every second of the flight. (After we landed in Europe the captain told us that he added extra 20 minutes to the flight and apologized for it because it caused a short delay. The extra time was to avoid weather storms that were on the standard path). I wanted to be a pilot as a young man - could not do it - but my job has been in scientific research. That allowed me to travel a lot and cross the globe many times. The magic of flying will never cease to amaze me. But taking "the [BIG] bird up" in a take-off, "decollage", is a thrill that for me cannot be compared to anything else, I know of.

This aircraft used nowhere near the entire runway. If you pay attention to the runway markings, they turn onto the runway about 2,500 feet from the end of the runway. There is also approximately 2,000 feet beyond the displaced threshold at the departure end. 4,500 feet of runway they didn't use

I believe that there has been a constant debate in the aviation industry between the hold and go and the turn and go philosophy especially with large aircraft. I have always heard that hold and go is the safer method as it allows the engines to spool up to their maximum before starting the roll. I noticed that this 380 did a turn and go. Wondering if that may have been the reason the entire 14,000 foot runway was used? Just saying.
@MrSchwabentier2 жыл бұрын
They didn’t use the entire runway though, they turned in early to save taxi time and by that didn’t use the first 750 meters of the runway

How old is this video? @ 6m 32s you can spot an A320 of the defunct Italian airline Air One, IATA=AP, taxiing along side the AF A380. Air One, was taken over by Alitalia and ceased all operations on October 30th, 2014. Its fleet was taken over by Alitalia as well. So, the question is: are there some birds of the former Air One still flying in its livery with some airlines or is this video pretty old (actually about 7 years)?
