Casi toda Europa viaja a RD por que es más fácil la Visa y hoteles todo incluido. Si vas a Europa y le preguntas a alguien si sabe se PR te va responder si llo se donde queda Costa Rica en centro América. No saben que es PR ni donde esta

I rarely go to this spot since I have the Aeroparque, but unless you're staying at the hotel, you can't stay at the spot for long periods of time due to security, which is the reason why I almost never spot from there.

I would think that a Air France diversion to San Juan might be a little awkward since not all of the passengers would possess the proper documentation and visas for admittance into the United States

There was also bad weather in Santo Domingo, Air France has flights in PUJ and SDQ, so closest option was SJU

angells96 yes, its SJU, that day ATC sent them to SJU as was imposible to land in PUJ or SDQ, some other flights diverted to STai, POP and later TUI from UK was divert to SDQ as weather get better first there than in PUJ.

@@rvairplanesrd not my airport date is 05/24/2019 not SJU MAYBE HE GOT THE DATES WRONG but on may 24 2019 the landscape , the signs, and the buildings are different even the roads. i work there.

I sent the video to a Friend that works for AA and he is from PR he said its SJU, terminal D that is now closed and used to be the AA terminal.

Why wasn't it diverted to Santo Domingo instead? Same country 20 min apart by plane...must have been running on fumes...who knows.

Well, for sure isn’t too large for Santo Domingo (SDQ), but maybe they told them they needed to divert due to bad weather before reaching the Dominican Republic and SJU airport is the closest one that they could’ve landed because is in the route already and “closest” to Europe
