I have a toaster oven air fryer that has baskets and a grill plate accessory. Do I put the bacon in the basket or on the grill plate? Quick Tip: The appliance trips the breaker consistently when I plug it into wall plugs. Luckily, I have a plug on my stove that is rated for 20 Amps and uses the 30AMP stove line for power. So I love the air fryer over to on top of my stove whenever I use it so I can use that plug. I live in an apartment building built in the 1970s as a senior housing unit. the plugs are only rated for 15 amps (It's a safety measure since we have many seniors and people with mental health and addiction issues leading to an extremely high fire risk in the building. We have at least one minor fire in the building every month and had a major fire that destroyed two apartments in March of last year)

I like my bacon like yours (husband is more the crispy type) but the thought of pulling out a frying pan or preheating the oven keeps bacon at the grocery store 😂 Now, I have an excuse to buy a package of bacon every once in a while, knowing it’s so easy in the air fryer. Thanks! *ONE Q: Could you do a video explaining how you keep your air fryer clean? I’ve been binging your vids and I’m always amazed how beautifully clean and like-new your basket is* 😊
@semperfi58572 жыл бұрын
It's really easy - just throw away the entire unit (please recycle) and use a new one.... Probably the best answer is to clean/wipe out immediately after each use, but who has time for that What works best for me is - if it's going to have fats/oils/cheese I'll pull the basket out completely and line the bottom with aluminum foil to catch most of the drippings - or just line the inside of the basket with Foil/Parchment paper. Bonus tip. Use heavy duty alum foil - the fan won't blow it around - you can fold small 'V's into the foil so air can still circulate underneath (like a folding fan) or if you're feeling lazy, just wrinkle up the foil in hand to make a bunch of ridges.

My wife is exactly the same way as to the extra, extra, crispy, fatty bacon as her favorite way to eat it. That, and almost burn to a crisp. In fact, when we eat breakfast at our local hole in the wall, trucker's cafe, the staff there get a kick out of telling her what she wants even before she can open her mouth to order it. They repeat that exact quote and always laugh at her when they do it like that. She had gastric surgery years back, and somehow this texture of bacon just satisfies her completely. Me, I am like you and enjoy a softer texture, too. Thanks for posting. I was thinking you may have the time incorrect for the extra crispy bacon, but glad you adjusted it and explained before you ended your video. Breakfast, or some may call it brunch, since it takes a while, but it becomes by far the best, heartiest, and maybe the least healthy meal of the day, but it rocks. Gary. I hope you enjoy your air-fryer cooked bacon as much as I enjoy mine.

I just cooked 3 rashers of dry cured unsmoked baon in my Ninja air fryer for the first time and it turned out great. I had to adjust the cooking time and temperature for my particular device, but it saves on electricity for heating up a grill, while for frying bacon in a pan on the stove, you do need a little oil or fat of some kind. The only problem with air fryers is that you have to keep cleaning them in hot, soapy water maybe three times a day if you use one a lot like I do.

I have a Ninja, too, and the constant washing is always a pain. As soon as I've finished cooking I pour boiling water into the basket with some washing-up liquid and leave it to soak for a couple of hours.

I love how he said..."that's a long minute..." Too funny, as my mom used to say..."a watched pot never boils..." Great video, thanks for posting! All the best, cheers...

I love sayings like that. A favorite when on a trip is "a country mile", cause you're in unknown territory and that mile on the marker seems so much longer when driving it !

I like the bacon extra crispy also and I have cooked it every way possible including campfire, grill, etc. You are correct about the smell on a camping trip. Bacon cooking and coffee brewing.....yum.

Damm I just did what you said and I just had the best "deep fryed" bacon just like I get at the dinner here in Fort Lauderdale. Thanks for the upload. Oh and there is no smoking up the chitchen setting off the fire alrams any more!!!

I have an air fryer with trays and a window. My best method is to sandwich the bacon slices between the wire racks so that they don't fly around in there and get stuck in the corner or something. They cook really evenly. I use the English style bacon with very little fat and 200C for ten minutes for bacon better and easier than in the pan.

That's hardly unusual to enjoy the smell of raw bacon, particularly if it's marinated with things like maple or other smoked marinations

I like bacon soft also. I think it's so much more flavorful and you can taste the smoky flavor better than when it's crispy.

I agree also. It has way more flavor not being over cooked IMO. Just like any other meat. Gotta use the thick cut also if you want it softer. I just cooked a pound that my son had bought. It was thin bacon and it came out too crispy for me. So I'm going to save that for him. Cooking my thick bacon now so I can cook it like I like it.

Wow, great. I have the same air fryer and it works great. But after a few times the air fryer gets really smoky. How do you clean all the bacon grease off of the element, top of the air fryer after you have cooked bacon?

In the UK streaky bacon is sort of ok but we use the larger smoked/unsmoked back bacon - more meat but less fat

Bro extra extra crispy bacon is actually so gross. The perfect chewy crispy medium is easily the best.

The way I do it, I have a vertical stand to attach the bacon strips so as its cooking in the air fryer, all that grease melts down so I don’t have to flip it.

I agree with your wife, crispy is best. This is the first time I'm trying bacon in the air fryer so thanks for your video tips. I am a bit concerned about the clean-up. I will pour out the grease and just wash in hot soapy water. We are campers and also LOVE the smell of bacon cooking on the fire and we always make it when we are camping. Thanks.

Yup you are right sir. You can't beat the smell of bacon in the morning camping or hunting outside or in a cabin. All looks good good man. Enjoy. Now i want bacon...lol
