Looks great, functions great, and highly recommended.The buttons are touch (not pressure activated "touch"), which was a nice detail kzbin.infoUgkxD4Qeo-HRLxMfom_PDinM_SBfes00qJsB Perfect size for normal every day meals, and it cooks food very thoroughly. On preset settings upon first use, it cooked my chicken breasts to a crisp. Boarder line too dry, so next time I'll either decrease temperature or time. Not a bad thing, just a minor adjustment for next time. No oil was used, so food was clean to the touch. Excited to see how other meals will turn out.Will recommend to friends and family in the future!

I tried this. It definitely worked out. So now I found another use for my air fryer. I should have added garlic. Otherwise I cooked a 2 lbs. piece at 390 degrees for 40 minutes. Not undercooked and it was juicy. The crackling wasn’t too hard and it was yummy and crunchy. Not too bad for a first attempt. I checked on it a couple of times and blotted any excess fat from the top. It really worked. Thank you for your recipe. I will definitely try this again.

I skipped the vinegar and in the fridge bit, scoring the pork belly with a carpet knife (Cheap+you can lock the blade so it doesn't cut in to the meat). Turned out perfect! Also the scoring of the skin helped me cut perfect slices. No prep time to talk about! I blanched it. After blanching the scores in the skin opened and I rubbed salt all over and did like you did with seasoning and the airfryer. Important to let it rest for at least 30 minutes when done.

So I’m currently trying this because I just had to! It’s looks delicious. But the skin on mine is smaller and thinner and I was wondering what would happen if I left it in the refrigerator for a shorter amount of time. What would happen if all of the moisture didn’t come out of the skin?
@rackoflam3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for trying out my recipe! If moisture is retained or if u didnt poke enough holes, the skin may not be as crispy. You may also notice blotch spots on the skin due to excess juice surfacing. Hope that helps!
@spaceinvader3843 жыл бұрын
Yes, removing as much moisture prior is the key to crispy skin that is the main focus of this dish. Pricking, salt & vinegar followed by repeated mopping is the perfect way to prepare/dehydrate the skin. We do this at home monthly or so, air frying, of course. Oh, 400 here is F that's about 204 C in metric conversion. By the way, we add just a little Sand ginger power (alias Ginger powder, Dried ginger powder, Sha Jiang powder or 沙羗粉, in most Chinese grocery store) to the 5 spices powder and it enhances the basic aroma after roasting. Thanks for sharing your wonderful recipe and proper kitchen skill. Congrats from Sydney, Australia.

Question pls.... is it really necessary to boil the pork belly prior to air frying? wouldn't it affect the meat's texture? Also, would you recommend using rice wine to marinate the meat first to get rid of the pungent pork smell? Thanks so much! ^^

I have seen recipes that didn’t boil the pork, but I like to do it to “clean” the meat, which is common in Asian cooking. You can marinate the meat in some Shaoxing wine.
