A few things I've found out about the Dual Blaze since buying it 3 months ago: 1. You can hold down any arrow and it scrolls without having to constantly tap it. 2. The "broil" function turns off the bottom element. Not for use with steak. But great after you finish the steak and want to add butter/garlic and don't want bottom to overcook. 3. Don't plug this into same circuit as your fridge - when the refrigerator cycles it will throw your GFI. 4. I use low temp for 6 minutes to thaw frozen chicken pieces - seems safer than thawing in the refrigerator. Otherwise chicken tends to get overdone on outside and underdone inside. 5. The left panel is the presets. You can change them by altering the time/temp and holding the icon down until it beeps. 6. Cook bacon 400°F and 9 minutes on the crisper plate. Most oil drains off and you can pour off any excess if you do eggs right afterwards. Pat the bacon dry. 7. Through trial and error I found that the thickness of bacon (within reason) doesn't affect time or temp needed. 8 I seldom wash the tray. Just pout out oil and wipe. The heat kills all the germs. I've always done that with pans as well. (Don't use those much any more.) 9. Buy the accessories, esp the egg holder for cooking eggs in the shell. (320° for 10 minutes for soft boiled). 10. The basket is completely closed unlike other air fryers that have holes. That means oils collects nicely at the bottom. One warning to husbands: YOU will become the cook in the house. Most things are so easy that my wife now just makes the salads and other cold items. Good Luck.

Everything I've cooked in this unit has come out great kzbin.infoUgkxD4Qeo-HRLxMfom_PDinM_SBfes00qJsB ! Everything tastes so good. Some of the recipes I've changed a little to improve the taste. For instance, for french fries which call for no oil, I spray them with olive oil and season them with salt and pepper. They come out great! It makes the best toast I have ever eaten. The recipe I use calls for lightly buttering both sides of the bread. It calls for cooking at 400 degrees for 5 minutes on one side and then 2 minutes on the other side. This time has a lot to do with the kind of bread you are using...so keep an eye on it. Also, the fans in this Ninja are a lot stronger than other air fryers. So lay a metal spoon or something on the bread to keep it from flying around. It's a little extra work to use your Ninja as a toaster but it is worth it!

Hi my friend I'm from the UK and enjoyed watching this, the word saute comes from Italy and is the Latin word to cook in oil or fat definitely not Scottish, be careful with your knife slicer as they can be dangerous as they are often not very sharp and hard to sharpen, I've been a butcher now for 28 years and retired now, but a great cheap sandwich to make and I'll definitely be giving it again 🍻🙏

I'm not sure if you're talking about the steak or the fries, but if it's the steak, cook to a lower temp than your preferred done-ness, then throw it on a screaming hot pan with some olive oil or ghee for a minute or two on each side. A reverse sear. I prefer my steak medium rare, so I'd cook to about 118 or so, then one minute each side on the pan. Kind of defeats the purpose of using an air fryer to cook your steak though. That said, I would rather cook steak on a cast iron skillet than the air fryer to begin with, so..

This is how to ruin a steak and chips, the idea of the air fryer is for the air to circulate and you should have used the trivet and not cook it on the base, I have the same air fryer and everything comes out perfectly with the trivt.

@DenaInWyo
@DenaInWyo 9 ай бұрын
And A-1. But to be fair, he did say he doesn't eat steak often, so maybe doesn't like it all that much? Of course, the medium well could be the reason he doesn't... FYI Doug, that isn't "blood" coming out of a rare steak. I know that's often the reason people run from a cooler temp. It's just moisture from the meat along with myoglobin, a protein. But hey, I get that everyone has their own preferences. Just hard for us folks that like medium rare or rare to imagine liking an overcooked (in our opinion) steak. Even medium would have been better. And I don't need steak sauce when it's cooked right, just enjoy the flavor of well seasoned beef.

The first steak I made, a ribeye, got overdone due to not knowing what settings to use and walking away until the beep. The internal temp was 155°F. I would never order a steak that well done but it actually tasted GREAT and my wife agreed. I shoot for 125-130 now and have figured out how to get that without buying expensive electronics.
