Based on everything I've seen regarding consciousness, personality and the human brain, there's no way such a thing as a literal "soul" exists. If you alter their brain physically in particular ways, they can actually become entirely different people. This is an inescapable fact and is beyond their ability to choose. What happens to someone if you modify their brain to say, hypothetically, turn them into a serial killer? Do they go to heaven or hell? Makes no sense at all if you really think about it.

If the Bible mentioned vaccine mandates that might be compelling. Vague predictions that you have to twist and squint to make fit aren’t at all impressive. The Bible is not a moral book. It gets the question of slavery wrong and that might be one of the easiest moral questions to answer. In numbers 31: 17-18 god commands Moses to commit genocide and sexually enslave the opposing people. There is not a single sentence written in the Bible that could not have been written by someone for whom a wheel barrow would have been emergent technology. Imagine if there really was a book written by god. Just think of how good it could be. The Bible could have been filled with answers to unsolved scientific and moral questions...but it’s not...the book is shockingly ordinary considering a huge portion of the population organizes their lives around it.
