@Theskystories134 The A350 is a beautiful and comfortable aircraft, but superlatives such as the "world's best" can be argued. The B787 is undoubtedly a more advanced and radical shift in the aviation industry with a MEA (more-electric-aircraft) design. The A350 is more an iterative step forward.

My buddy said that he saw me on your video multiple times! My apologies for the background conversation I was having with my associate on some tuning issues with the left engine, while you were interviewing the gentleman seated behind you. I work for Rolls Royce, and travel frequently as support staff for new launches. Usually, it's just work, but I was graciously surprised to see the fanfare around this flight, which was definitely cool to see in India. Having spent a lot of time in the air on A350s, Air India's is comparatively nice to what the other airlines have fitted on board. It's not cutting edge compared to what others are fitting, but it's a huge upgrade over its existing fleet and a positive lift for Indians. The problem with AI has generally been maintenance and I was already surprised to see some wear and tear since boarding, on 22nd December last year, the brand new VT-JRA. While still in operations training, the soft product was lacking from the quality of dining (extremely poor breakfast), lack of beverages, and the lack of warmth from the cabin crew. Hopefully these are just early day jitters and will be resolved.

Just to add: These and the subsequent 5 A350-900s are aircraft originally intended for Aeroflot. The interiors seen here, especially in biz, are based on the Collins Aerospace Horizon design. These will be one-offs in a sense. Air India's bespoke interiors, which will be fitted to the A350-900s/1000s intended for delivery later in the year, and retrofitted to existing 777s, are based on the Safran Unity business product. The aircraft with the Safran Unity product will form the bulk of AI's long-haul fleet. While I prefer the Collins to the Safran interiors personally, the Safran Unity should be loaded with greater technology like bluetooth connectivity and wireless charging. I hope that AI's bespoke premium economy and economy products are better than those currently on the "Aeroflot" A350-900s. FWIW, the Safran product is chosen by Qantas in business for their A350-1000s for Project Sunrise.

While traveling on a shuttle bus, I really saw the Airbus A359 of Air India (honestly not making it up) but I couldn't make video or photo 😢. But I did catch Qatar A350-1000, Emirates A380, Lufthansa B747-400, etc. on the Bengaluru tarmac. 😅😅

With so many Indian AV geeks rooting for the new Air India brand, this is such a lacklustre effort. Moreover, with the much-hyped "New Era" of Air India, seeing the old branding (I still think it is more classic and elegant than the new logo) in their soft products and also the underwhelming presentation of the food tray makes me think, is Air India really ready? Question: I see Delta and United infotainment systems provide an option for Bluetooth connectivity to your personal headphones/airpods. Does the AI A350 screens have that as well? Delta/United cabin crews ask passengers IF THEY NEED a pair of earphones. Those are complimentary but sound quality is pretty bad. I hope AI follows the same plan.

Currently you must have a wired pair of headphones or depend on the poor quality pair provided by the airline. The Safran Unity product is expected to have cool tech like Bluetooth and wireless charging. We’ll have to wait until AI starts to induct those bespoke aircraft.
