I picked up one of your tops in KC. It’s sitting on my desk at work and I get it spinning at least once a day. I enjoyed talking with you about your injection molder. I need to try out a 3D printed mold and injecting it with hot glue like you suggested. I really enjoyed seeing your string throwing machine too. I had never seen one before and have added that project to my list.

Dustin Rogers Thanks, I am trying to get the string shooter on KZbin/Thingiverse soon also.

Scorch Works I’ll keep an eye out. I’m curious about the string. Is it just yarn? How’d you make the continuous loop?
@ScorchWorks6 жыл бұрын
Yes, it was yarn (the type used to make dish cloths) I glued the ends of the yarn together using CA glue (super glue). I tried a lot of different strings before I found one that worked well.

Scorch Works good to know. BTW - I saw your silicone extruded fishing lure video a long time ago and thought it was genius. I look forward to seeing more of your content and am glad to have met you.

I’m one of the thousands of random teens you encountered at MFMSP earlier this year. Cool!

Thanks, I hope you saw some interesting things at MFMSP. It is nice to think you were interested enough in what I was doing to subscribe to my KZbin channel.

very cool. would love to see a video on how you made that injection mold and how you use it!

I do have some old injection molding videos but I could do an updated version next time I make a mold.

Do you have the piles for the injection mold posted anywhere? I work with a group developing Open Source / DIY Injection Molding Machines, and this would be a neat mold to have!
@ScorchWorks2 жыл бұрын
No there are not any models for the mold online.
@ericlotze77242 жыл бұрын
@@ScorchWorks Would you be able to post them, or do you no longer have the CAD files?
@ScorchWorks2 жыл бұрын
@@ericlotze7724 I never made a mold model. I wrote g-code by hand to make the mold. The g-code uses variables and loops so it is useless if you are using a GRBL based controller. If you think the g-code would be usefull contact me by e-mail scorch at scorchworks.com. Alternatively making a mold model using boolean operations is not that hard in OpenSCAD or another program. I am sure someone in your group can do it.

@@ScorchWorks Yeah Thanks! That's definitely above my know-how, but i'll ask around and keep in touch. Also thanks for making all these cool projects and sharing them with us, really glad i found your channel!
