"breaking the glass" Could have just cut along the sillicone, and re-sealed it, probably would have saved you some work time though add in 24h cure time :) Very interesting design!

Ha. The one bit of pre-planning. That was always in my mind so I could get a nice thumbnail. So, whats your next project and I'll try and do something different this time.....? Unless you say its anything to do with matten filters and maple leaf rock. In which case, shotgun!! lol

Cling film probably wasn't the best choice - I've been caught out with it before in a different but similar project and was told that the clue is in the name! Cling film isn't very good at releasing!!

With great difficulty. Lmao. But I have cut all of the foam down enough so thats its not a completely tight fit and so on the edges where I plugged gaps with alfagrog, there is just enough space to use my shaving blade scraper tool. Hopefully that won't be an issue for a while.....

I want to know more about this air diven system. I built my first Palidarium this year. It is awesome. The plants are doing great. I have shrimp, springtails, and dairy cow isopod. But the water pump has been a pain in the butt. I wish I had seen this beforehand. I'm kind of curious why you didn't do this in a foam board structure that was the dimensions of the inside of the tank? You might have a small gap from the thickness of the board. But I feel like that would have been fixable with silicone. Besides that, the only thing that would have done different is put crystals in the cave. Stocking choices are good. 😊

Ha. I was asking myself the same question as soon as it started to go wrong..... I think maybe a foam structure would have bulged and expanded too much, but I was thinking that a plywood structure that could easily be unscrewed would have been the answer. You live and you learn! Thanks for watching. Really pleased you liked the project!

That's fabulous! Worth all the trauma you had at the start. I have been wondering if air alone could be enough to make a waterfall. Great job

I’ve redone my last air driven aquarium with your hybrid gravel filter (even though it was probably the most stable aquarium I’ve ever had). I’ve just turned it into a fancy hidden sponge filter with a rock wall and a fern and Calanthea planted behind a rock wall coming out of the water. However my cheap air pump never had much volume, but is now on its last legs. Can I ask how much airvolume your pump uses for the waterfall?
@AquariumShed
@AquariumShed 3 ай бұрын
Hiya. It's slightly difficult to know the precise air volume - I'm using a Medo LA-45C attached to a air ring as a documented in this video - kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z5u2ZYOEia1sg8Usi=ZucRg6dO6xFmctPN - so the total air volume is difficult to say. I'm currently running five aquariums off of the air ring and release excess pressure so it's not nearly at capacity. I would say tho, that I think my old Eheim Air 200 would easily have powered this waterfall. Sorry not to be more helpful. 👍

I forgot about the air ring, but I’ve seen that vid ofcourse😎 yeah hard to tell, I’d think I’ll pick up a eheim 100 when this pump dies. Thanks for your input!

slap 4 boards together with screws slightly smaller than tank dimensions, build your scape in this mold. after a week to cure, unscrew the boards and you have your scape ready to insert in the tank.
