Ah, I remember watching the Virgin Australia 737-800 landing in NCRG (Rarotonga International Airport) Note: I have enjoyed your video and i will sub. Edit: I have been on NCRG - NCAI before and back. It is truly a beautiful atoll. And i find it cool that a-lot of my family members are from Rarotonga and Aitutaki.

I was there in 2002, celebrating my 40th birthday. Looks like they don't have a sandy runway anymore. Paradise of the world. Can't be compared to anything else.

Hi @Jens Fagerlund, Definitely a paradise! The runways were paved. Also the airport building seemed to be relatively new. All the best and stay healthy

Wow its amazing you remember that double sided runway in Aitutaki. I miss it too.

Been to Raro and Aitutaki in 2007 and 2010 amazing places. I passed through those airports, that gate and have the same boarding pass :). Aitutaki has been so far my favorite place on earth. Would like to go back relatively soon

Hi @freefromsociety , thanks for your message. We've loved it also in Aitutaki. Hopefully we can go back there soon or to a similar place! Any ideas that look like Aitutaki? ;-). All the best and stay safe.

@@Swisstravellerslife Bantayan Island, cebu province, in the Philippines is my second favorite spot so far, even lived there for 7 months. Avoid Easter holidays if you ever go there(crazy packed) and also avoid from the end of June to end of september(rainy season) other than that the area around sant fe town has Amazing Aitutaki style deserted beaches. May was the best month there for weather and water colour

@@Swisstravellerslife Why don't you try other atolls in the Cook Islands? You could do a trip to Mangia or Mauke! Maybe even the Northern group such as Penrhyn (4 hr) or Manihiki (3 hr 25 min) but its quite expensive - they come at a whopping price of about 2.5k NZD and just snacks. Probably wouldnt do it but it would be cool if we could see what the flights look like.

Took this trip back in the late 80's. The airport on Aitutuki was just a plywood shack with no glass in the windows. The airport also served as the golf course.

@@blackpanda7612 Why not? Plenty of small airports on pacific islands are like that.
@blackpanda76122 жыл бұрын
@@kurtsvensson4362 Wow that's amazing. There's some islands in the pacific that have just a dirt road and wooden shack as an airport.
@kurtsvensson43622 жыл бұрын
@@blackpanda7612 Some have even less than that. There’s an airport on an Australian island that i’ve been to that is just some cones on a beach.

Hi "thedisciple25" Thanks for your comment. Ooohhh... we've missed the crabs wondering through the terminal :-). That must have been fun to watch.. Just a beautiful island. We wish to be there - especially in these times... All the best for 2021 and stay safe!

Amazing! Which one is the best month to go there? When did yo go? 😊
@Swisstravellerslife4 жыл бұрын
Hi @Sebastian Martinez, thanks for your message. We've travelled in early June to Aitutaki. The best time to go - if you believe weather-forecast-sites - is between April til October. But because it is on the southern hempishere you should consider that the sun is going down a little bit earlier if you'll travel in there "winter time". All the best and enjoy your trip if you'll go!

Good video, ruined by terrible music - loud, obnoxious and unrelated to the visuals. Ambient, in-flight sound would've been better. This music is crap.
