I wish we had more turboprops in the U.S. The ATR-72 is much more comfortable than the tiny jets I normally ride for interstate travel. French Polynesia is surprisingly accessible. About 8 hours direct from the west coast. You should go!

The flight time is more than 25 minutes for sure. It is around 45-50 minutes. I did this trip in beginning of this year but always with stop on Raiatea or Huahine and already thise flights are 35-40 minutes from Papeete. But anyhow, nice trip. I will go with my wife a second time if possible.

Thanks. I didn't want to spend my whole vacation making videos, but the white sand, corral reefs, and swimming with sharks and rays were all amazing. Definitely worth a visit

Your flight departed form Gate 52? How many gates are there in that airport?

The international terminal is attached to the domestic, but that probably means there are two gates total. Not sure where they got 52.

This wasn't a problem since their baggage allowances are similar to other airlines (50 lbs / 23 kg). Daily clothing consisted mainly of bathing suits, shorts, and flip-flops, so my suitcase was lighter than on most other trips. If you're bringing scuba equipment or similar, there's a sports equipment section on their website that might help and there are other classes of tickets with heavier allowances. www.airtahiti.com/en/checked-baggage
