Told the key lime to hold short of that runway. It was read back, which means the pilots heard and understood the instruction. ATC gave proper instruction and the pilot got too close.

This wasn't nearly as close as it looks. That said, NOTHING in commercial aviation scares me as much as a potential runway incursion. A few years ago we got into LAX early. (I know, that's remarkable in itself!) There was no gate for us. We just sat there like a big, fat target. I hope my family didn't notice l was holding my breath.

It's an optical illusion, maybe 1000 ft? The Lime Air pilot clearly overan the hold short line and the ATC controller was alert and made the call. But the departing aircraft was already in the air.

I know of another case and saw the consequences when a bomber, taking off at 300 km/h, smashed the control tower; at the end of the take off, the runway was covered with ice and the pilots were unable to control the plane. No one survived.
