Do not cancel IFR in IMC conditions till clear of the runway. Suppose at the last second you had to go around for some reason, or you blew a tire on landing and were stranded on the runway............that twin Commanche was probably cleared for the approach shortly after you cancelled and was only a few minutes behind you. Also.....don't make phone calls or do anything else that could distract you till you come to a complete stop, preferably in a tiedown spot. Nice of you to lend a helping hand for our furry friends !!

yes, I was surprised that Robert cancelled when we did, on this I agree with you, as far as the phone calls are concerned it was no issue at this location as no-one was moving on the ramp and we needed to locate the party with the dawgs, however new pilots should not be distracted by making phone calls

I totally disagree with you on the phone calls. Distractions cause accidents...........it always appears to be clear till the unexpcected happens. Stop on the ramp where you're clear of everyone, then make the call. Low time or high time doesn't matter when it comes to distractions. A minute of caution could avoid an accident. Ruff Ruff !! Jerry you clearly gave Robert the ok to cancel IFR and If you got “surprised” as you said you did when Robert cancelled IFR you should of taken command of your aircraft and told Robert something. You are the pilot in command, not Robert. Passing the blame to him on your comments does not excuse you. This is sadly not the first time I see you canceling IFR while in IMC or not meeting the VFR minimums. The most common one I see from you is canceling IFR when you are barely 50 feet below the cloud deck when legally you need to be 500 feet below in some airspace’s to be VFR legal etc…

And don’t get me started on your little phone call while rolling down the runway. Completely showing a careless and reckless behavior with that. Being hands free or having the phone connected to your headset once again does not excuse you from that behavior.

except replying with callsign 43SJ. e.g. "Going to 125.25 for 3SJ"..... I know Jerry said he was "working on him" for that, but it seems to be a hard habit to break.

@@dabneyoffermein595 well, about 0:19 the very first radio call in the video for example "We're restricted to 5500, FOR 3SJ" and then all though, almost every readback of every video he is in! It can be construed as 43SJ. People have mentioned it many times in the past, Jerry has acknowledged it but we are yet to see Robert take it on board! Fingers crossed!

Jerry have you considered a bit of flight school? About time for some you have good skills but need to be more procedural with SOPs and flows every time. As pilots we cannot afford to get sloppy in the cockpit I am saying this out of my heart for your own good. You can get some excellent training with a Master Instructor. Flying skills are not your problem.
