AirAsia FACES: Your face is now your boarding pass

AirAsia has introduced FACES (Fast Airport Clearance Experience System), a facial recognition technology to make air travel as contactless as possible. With FACES, your boarding pass is replaced with your face and it can be activated from the AirAsia super app. It is rolling out starting 1st November in KLIA2 with plans to expand to more airports in the region in 2022.
At the moment, FACES is deployed at the boarding gates for selected flights and AirAsia plans to cover more touchpoints including self-baggage drop and pre-flight security checks.

If it is registered on the AirAsia super app, use the IC to register for domestic flights. If I want to fly abroad, do I need to use my passport to register AirAsia faces again?

tak wajib..kalau buat,mudah sikit perjalanan..tak perlu beratur scan boarding pass..tp hari tu tak boleh scan muka,org lain pun sama,last² scan boarding pass jugak..😪

This is bullshit, what for fully implementation if the system is unstable specifically the app development. I accept the development these technologies but when system goes down it need physical humans to assist or other alternative ways to help people here. Here in Malaysia the technology still unstable for development and advancement same goes the country politics.
