Airbag Explosion in 4K

The blue and red shot was really, really cool, and the blue into green wasn't bad, either. But the yellow was a complete and utter fail. lol

Alan Crytex agreed, I think it would have been more "effective" if they just blew one "explosive" but with all four colors, just use a cross section that can be removed and the colors shouldn't mix that much before the explosion, and should become like a "rainbow" cloud, if set up properly.

You guys could start the explosions with a sensor. The camera spinns around, u activate the sensor, the next time the camera passes the sensor the explosion starts.

It's funny because as I watched it the 2nd time, I realized that having the opposite side explode still wasn't the right idea. It perfectly rotated to be blocked by the last explosion as it went around, yet the other paint rig on the side was perfectly unobstructed and could have gone off there, if planned ahead like that. I think if they would have had a 3rd try at this they would have probably nailed it with some further refinement and noticing which ones were visually unobstructed from the camera as it rotated after the first explosion ;)

The biggest problem with the slow show is that because of youtube its “airbag explosion in 4k” instead of “airbag explosion in x fps”

flamedramon yes really annoying. I prefer to see really slow fps as they used to do it. Rather than just 1000fps in 4k. Smartphone can shoot in 960fps.whats the use of huge and expensive phantom cameras. Just waste

Kalle Noble I completely agree. Our whole family has always liked gather around the TV and watching new slow mo guy videos, but the super slow show feels like a studio trying to capitalize on someone else's success and taking all the fun out of it. They also don't even slow them down any slower than a cell phone can do. I really hope they go back to their old ways of doing things in Gavin's backyard.

kevin brady. A cellphone can do 240 fps at best. These shots are all 1,000 fps in 4k. No cell phone can do what they're doing. That being said, I do agree with your point, and I wish the whole Super Slow Show would end, so Gav and Dan can go back to their usual shenanigans

yeah they should have timed it so they all went off in front of the camera instead of opposite it for that last try. That way none of the explosions are obscured by the paint dust. Still not sure how great that would look though. Maybe they still should have them far away from camera in the middle? It's hard to say really

Recipe for rich and simple French Onion Soup: Melt butter with olive oil in an 8 quart stock pot on medium heat. Add onions and continually stir until tender and translucent. Do not brown the onions.Add beef broth, sherry and thyme. Pro tip, you can put a sensor on the rig that triggers whatever you want and is inactive until you press your button. So you press your button, and the next time the rig is perfectly positioned everything starts.

Try flying a drone with a camera on it over the air bags as they "explode". Have the drone moving slow enough to see the clouds form, but fast enough not to get engulfed by the cloud

Does anyone remember those kids science exhibits that museums had which featured a smoke machine, a specially designed enclosure, and a fan at the top, and you basically got to see a miniature tornado? You what would have been great for this shot: To have the spinning camera on a circular, vertical track that was connected to the trigger. So when the trigger's pressed the camera starts to move upward so that it traces a helical path but keeps looking toward the centre.
