Wish I could afford this, I want to paint firearms. Airbrush has such little coverage and mini sprayer has too much, and requires such a big compressor I don't have. I have a 8 gallon tank with like 9 CFM at 30 PSI. Firearms have such tight tolerances as well. Airbrush seems to be the best option, but this would be great.

What is the largest particle size that this can take? I use my HP-CS all the time and it's fine with pearls (20μm) but can this do anything larger for more of a sparkle mica?

I want to get this airbrush, but some people (from what I have read) seem to think this is good only for larger objects, like the 1/350 Enterprise models, etc. and not that good to use with smaller parts like the nacelles exhaust vents (1/350 or 600 Enterprise TOS), or those tiny statue-type characters. As if the smaller part 'require' a much lighter touch. I would think a 'lighter touch' is doable with this HP-TH2. My desire is to have one brush that is versatile (small and larger objects) and EASY to clean (i.e. nozzle) as I plan to do mostly larger models that have small parts. Any thoughts on that matter? I am also considering the Colani from H&S, but I REALLY LIKE the nozzle on this HP-TH2. Thanks!

The TH2 is an ideal airbrush for coverage and with the mac valve you can get a wide variety of spray patterns. Even so it may not be the best for painting those smaller parts. I have several Iwata airbrushes. I have two eclipse airbrushes, one is gravity feed, and I just got a side feed Takumi eclipse and I love both of them, although since getting the side feed, I find myself using it more than the gravity feed. I see advantages to both. I also have an Iwata Vault TH2 that I love as well. I use it mostly for applying UVLS clear coats to my finished airbrush paintings on card stock. I would love to be able to use the 3M 3 oz. paint cups on it, but have been unable to find an adapter that would fit. Chris with Createx has modifed a 3m cup to 'slip' over the metal cup of the TH2. That doesn't solve my problem as the 'cap' will no longer fit the plastic cup allowing me to 'seal' the paint left in the cup, meaning I'd still not be able to save the paint for a short time and still be usable. And I do not allow paint to set in my Iwata's as they are great tools and I treasure them. I know that 3M makes an adapter for the Iwata LPH80, but not for the TH2. Can you tell me if 3m makes an adapter to 'fit' the TH2, or what thread the metal cup uses so I can get a machine shop to made me an adapter? Thanks for your assistance. Bill G.

@@billybubba600 Ive seen a youtube short where someone uses the smaller cup from the Iwata TH (actually the GSI PS290 but they are nearly identical) and stuffs a PPS cup into it. It looks like it fit with no adapter and is snug.
