You are a gentleman and a scholar. I've been airbrushing a few months and it's fantastic, I managed to purchase my own Badger airbrush just a few weeks ago and it makes the world of difference having a tool of higher quality. I just wanted to acknowledge you gesture to the kid and thank you on his behalf.

I've studied under this young man two or three times: He is one of the best airbrush artist in the world! You will learn more from him in four and a half days than you will alone in years. I don't work for them, but if you are serious, then go to a Getaway! You will return home and do things you never even dreamed of! Thanks Jonathan!

one of the best and most instructional times I ever have done is attending the AA get-a-way in Vegas a few years back. Working under Jonathan and others at the event was a definite boost to my Airbrush chops. Having a marketing and design (advertising design) business, the fine art side of my creativity is enhanced by time spent at that Get-A_way!! Loved it and would go back in a heartbeat.

Very nicely done, and it's good to see someone do such outstanding work with an Eclipse! They're sold as "entry-level" airbrushes, but in the hands of talent they're great airbrushes. I've got mostly Iwatas and a few Badgers and Paasche, but my Eclipse and my HP- B are my workhorses!

You have inspired me to get into airbrush art. My husband is a graphics designer, so it will be nice to find my own thing. I have a very basic badger airbrush gun, but what type of thinner do you use? Can I just use basic acrylic paint in an airbrush gun? What would you recommend for beginners? I appreciate your help...beautiful feather!

Hello Mr. Chris Stieglitz. Please accept my wishful blessings for health, happiness and success for you and to those you love. I just have to say. This story is so relative to the capture of your heart when you watch the talent of any airbrush artist. This is so close to the same reasons for my learning this art. My real reason was to support my daughters as a single dad. When 'Airbrush Action' came along? It was the best thing for me ever. I was able to learn from such talents as Terry Hill, Tim Mitchell, Jurek and much more. My first art piece with Terry Hill was the t-shirt art of the beach scene and the awesome twist method with the t-shirt almost like a tie-die. LOL. Our most popular too. Tim Mitchell shared his talent with the awesome golden dragon and Jurek was the realism of a tiger and he even started it upside down. So if you ever consider investing your time of learning and gain more talent? Airbrush Action is the best and most great way to go. It is great that they share their knowledge on here and we did not have this as easy in 1994 at the New Jersey 'Get-Away'. Thank you so much and this appreciation has been well due for over 20 years, Mr. Cliff. P.S. My daughters are well and I am a very proud grandfather. Many Blessings, J. 'SpiritWolf' Vega.

You are right. I've been a pro for 40 years and have never noticed any real difference between cheap and expensive airbrushes except that expensive ones are stupidly costly to maintain. I know that statement will irritate manufacturers and airbrush snobs but it's true.

+Rocko Flores You can also get closer and do finer lines. You'll go through tips and needles though.
@sped173737 жыл бұрын
Correct, one does go through a few needles and a tip or two when learning to airbrush with the aircap off for better detail. But eventually you get used to it, I very seldom snag a needle on anything anymore and I use Olympos MP-200C Microns--the needles on them have such a long, fine taper that they protrude twice as far out the tip of the gun than any Iwata. But the detail capability and quick trigger response of the Olympos is beyond compare!

Do you have to know how to draw to be a good air brush artist?
@dreamsnchains48305 жыл бұрын
No... :) There are many ways to transfer an image onto your item to be painted... and that is when the magic starts. Airbrushes actually do the paint magic themselves if you are patient and determined. Drawing is harder, in my opinion.

Relate to the fact nobody wanted to teach him anything...I learnt airbrushing in the same way. I phoned the local Art College in Aberdeen, Scotland, in 1990 and they didnt know what airbrushing was!!...taught myself, and ended up doing one of the best trucks in Scotland, scenes from the movie "Braveheart" on a Scania rig.
@shaddowhunter279010 жыл бұрын
I've been airbrushing for over 27 years. My advice, STAY AWAY from gravity feed airbrushes. Use bottle feed. You get a much faster color change and less waste. Use a 5mm tip and needle and run your airbrush at 40psi.
@alexartsdecorative77057 жыл бұрын
not really the case, With a bottom or side feed airbrush you loose every time in airtighteness resulting more difficult suction of the color to the airbrush. For sure color change is faster asuming that you have to change bottle every time. but in fine arts that's not the case. Besides all bottom feed airbrushes come with thicker nozzles not a match with a fine detail airbrush nozzle and what they can do i one wants detail. Every serius studio should have 3-4 airbrushes for different color and uses.
@miles11we7 жыл бұрын
Shaddow Hunter dogma like that kills progress
@CarlosSoto-kf9qb5 жыл бұрын
I am sure you meant .5mm (as in "point five milimeters"), 5mm is almost a quarter of an inch, and 40psi might be a bit too generic, not all paints are diluted equal, not all surfaces require that much pressure, and not all airbrushes work the same. 27 years?..... really?
