Absolutely amazing artwork. I learned a lot about layering while watching this. I'm just starting out painting models but a lot of this applies. I wish I could get my airbrush to paint as smoothly as yours. It seems all I do is clean the brush, and clean more..

As I watched I was thinking to myself that it was a shame that so much of the skull's detail was getting lost as the green was being applied, but once you went back in and applied the deep blacks again at the end... WOW! It really popped!

Did you spray a clear base over the artwork between layers of candy on this one?
@AirbrushAsylum Жыл бұрын
Not 2 pack clear but I usually use the house of Kolor SG-100 intercoat clear to seal the art before final clears, I also check the work after the first coat of clear is dry and wet sanded so I can make any fine adjustments before the final flow coat 👍🏻

Great video, definitely like your videos. Do you like the trident paint? Is it better than autoair and wicked? I currently have Matisse Flow and Fluid pro artist acrylics and was wondering if I should try something like a premade airbrush paint to get an idea for flow at least. Would be painting fishing lures mainly but I do want to try some artwork too. I want something lightfast for sure, ASTM 1 if possible. I want a white and a black that shoots as opaque as possible to use as a base for some candy colours. Trying to decide whether to test autoair or trident or wicked colours. Also with candies, is there a preference you like? I currently just mix a pigment into an acrylic medium but was wondering if the dye based ones were better. Also on the micron, what is the forward cutout for? Thanks.
@AirbrushAsylum5 жыл бұрын
Hi there thanks for your comment I do love Trident paints due to their ability to flow like urethane, I just tested Candy 2’0 and was impressed how they performed they are very close to the automotive dyes that I used to use ie House of Kolor. In regards to what I think of createx I find that wicked works well and sticks better than any other product but it seems to tip dry SO much more than Trident hence why I LOVE Trident . Good question re the Micron front cut out , I think it’s purely a aesthetic and so that you can see when the needle packing is starting to need a clean. If you want to see how the Candy 2’0 perform feel free to check out my video premiere kzbin.info/www/bejne/jZK8d3mChdGAnZo hope that helps glad you enjoy my content 👌🏻👌🏻

@@eribertoacedo9505 #1 I'm a tattoo artist #2 I get that airbrushing & tattooing is completely different ( there are a lot of similarities with the lighting but tattoo artist get one shot there is no going covering it up and re-detailing and covering it up and re-detailing ) and I'm not saying I could do any better I'm saying that's skull in black-and-white was badass and it seemed like he was doing 10 times to work just to cover it. Once again I'm saying he's better than I am by far, but if one of my artists was doing all that work and time just to cover it up ( with black or a darker color like after doing all that work and then adding a bandana and basically covering up the whole lower jaw, to make it comparable to a tattoo) they be looking for another job.

Thanks for your comment and you know I do agree, I still can’t believe that after airbrushing for more than 20years it’s still as popular as it is...don’t get me wrong I would prefer airbrushing ten flame and skull artworks than one portrait as I just find them so much fun, I suppose each to their own but even here on YT I have uploaded artworks with different themes and those videos never out perform the classic Flames and Skulls...I guess if it ain’t broke don’t fix it 👌🏻👍🏻 🔥 💀

Gabriel, I have one recommendation if you want to start. Dont start off with a cheap $20 airbrush. Go ahead and get something decent like a Iwata Eclipse or you could get discouraged. They are a great investment and at certain hobby store you can find them for under $100. I.e. hobby lobby w/40% off coupon :)
