Hi, Rosie. Awesome demonstration on how to use that machine. I am really impressed with your information and your specific vision with your wonderful cake decoration techniques. I can't believe you have made a lot of videos with different themes or patterns. Have a wonderful week, Rosie. :-)

I always wanted to one day use an airbrush for my cakes but I've been way too intimidated. This absolutely helped and I'll be asking for one this coming Christmas 😜 thank you for the video!

yay +EasyDistraction, glad to hear this came in handy for you :D I was worried people would have been disappointed with an airbrush tutorial and no dessert so your comment is very reassuring haha.

Great tutorial..you really went into detail. I will admit I have been way too terrified to ever consider getting one but you really broken. it down into the basics and while I don't think I will get one anytime soon-I have enough gadgets and I want to tackle Macaron's next- I can see that they aren't as scary as I always thought.

So my mom bought me an airbrush for my birthday like two years ago and I’ve been terrified to use it but my question is that now that I want to use it on her phonic covered cake for Mother’s Day I was going to stencil on some flowers do you do I have to put butter cream over it over the stencil when it’s on fondant in order to spray?

Hi Rosie, thank you for your great explanation. can you please tell me if I can use the americolor into my polycarbonate moulds, instead of using cocoa butter ? I used an airbrush for the first time and the experience with cocoa butter wasn't too good as I had blockages very early one. Many thanks

+Lisa Hi Lisa thank you so much for your lovely comment! That is correct, any air brush. However you need to use edible airbrush colours which are alcohol based :)

one question I've had on my mind for some time...... can any type of airbrush be used with the airbrush icing coloring , as long as you only use it with edible paint? or does the machine have to be specifically for edible paint?
@Rosiesdessertspot8 жыл бұрын
Hi +Dora Castillo, I only ever put the Amerimist airbrush colour in the airbrush, but you can use it with other airbrush specific paints too (having said that I would keep 2 separate brushes for each function, never mixing other non edible paints in the same brush. It can be cleaned out, but even then it's probably not safe). I hope I understood your question correctly!

@mohdridhwanahmadzulkifli29468 жыл бұрын
hi rosie...can we do airbrushing on a buttercream cake..tq
@Rosiesdessertspot8 жыл бұрын
+Mohd Ridhwan Ahmad Zulkifli Yes you can, you will want to do it in thin layers and allow the colours to dry before applying more colour as on buttercream the airbrush colours tend to form little beads (oil in the buttercream stops the colour from absorbing, whereas fondant absorbs the colour really well)
@mohdridhwanahmadzulkifli29468 жыл бұрын
Tq rosie..as on SMBC swiss meringue buttercream, it will result a not smooth n clean surface because of that little beads rite..so is it advisable not to airbrushing on buttercream in order not to ruin the cake..tq dear

hi, can i replace the airbrush colouring to normal colouring? like liquid or gel?
@Rosiesdessertspot8 жыл бұрын
Hi +Jane Lim, liquid colour is usually waer based so this will take a while to dry. Gel colour will clog the airbrush gun,, although people do mix a little bit of gel with alcohol so it's nice really thinned out, but this also risks your airbrush clogging. It hasn't clogged mine yet lol but to be on the safe side I would probably stick with the special airbrush colours. Because these colours are usually alcohol based the mist dried quickly over your cake.

@Rosiesdessertspot8 жыл бұрын
+SUGARCODER lol that's such a good point I didn't even think about that. I know how to do this with a kinkydoodle airbrush but I will have to ask the iwata team if it's the same process. I don't want to break my new brush just yet haha

+Rosie's Dessert Spot the airbrush guns are pretty much the same to take apart and clean unless it's a trigger action. Lisa Berczel has an awesome Craftsy class that teaches all about air brushes, types of compressors, cleaning, maintenance and use. Worth the $$ especially when they're on sale.
