This tutorial series is exactly what I needed and although other youtubers have made good a320 tutorials, I really like the way you relate everything you say to what happens in real life so thank you

Thank you. Beautiful video. It will help me a lot to avoid all the mess I make during takeoff with the A30 in MSFS. What I don't quite understand is how you manage to engage the Auto Throttle in the very first phase while avoiding overspeed. Usually, with a managed speed of 250 during climbing, I always have the problem that the speed is reached before I can retract the flaps.

8:33 What if you forgot to turn the nw lights off because you could damage the lights and waste electricity and I don't think you get a memo on the ECAM

Hi there is a programme called ear trumpet which allows you to adjust the volumes for individual programs on your pc. So you can reduce the volume of fs2crew whilst keeping msfs as normal.

Can I just confirm, once leaving a taxi way and in the event of having to cross a runway, should strobes be turned on just before crossing, then turned off once I have crossed the runway? Or is that not necessary? I always wondered this.
@A330Driver7 ай бұрын
Turn them ON before entering the runway, turn them OFF again once the plane is completly clear of it. Whenever you are ON the runway the strobes need to be ON.

You kind of answered the question but what exactly does the NAV call out mean just after gear up ie green NAV. Does it mean it’s possible to engage the AP if so desired ? I have some cockpit videos of A350 (any Airbus I suspect) where the pilots do the NAV call but just hand fly and don’t use the AP. I’ve probably answered my own question but wondered. Thx for the videos they have been very useful. I noticed the TARA arc lines on a RL cockpit video just now made me smile from your last video.

I believe (although don't quote me), it is the callout for the NAV mode engaging as the lateral navigation mode Watching Airbus cockpit videos, they generally callout most if not all changes to the FMA, and that box is the one displaying the current navigation mode (e.g. NAV or HDG, etc.). On the runway, it is in the RWY mode (as said in the initial callout), and you can see that NAV is armed (in blue). The NAV callout is then for NAV becoming the active navigation mode (in green), so the flight directors will follow the flight plan routing. TLDR: It is the callout for the current lateral navigation mode (with NAV iirc meaning follow flight plan)

Thank you very much for the videos. Would you be able to make a engine out procedure in the mcdu video please? Thanks :)

These videos are so useful. Thank you. When I accelerate, on the runway A/T kicks in and reduces thrust. Should I not have any speed set on the autopilot for take off? I’ve tried that but very quickly get an overspeed warning.

Great vid but I'm a little confused. You stated its "normal" to operate pacs off departure. I'm surprised by that. Is that an airline SOP or an Airbus directive? We see other Airbus rw pilots taking off with pacs on. Thanks.

My other question was when watching RL videos (A350) you see THR DCLB I’m assuming thrust de-rate climb guess ? Maybe I saw it wrong it’s hard to read even on tv sometimes. I have check again sorry 😂
@valet29727 ай бұрын
Yeah the A350 has a derated climb trust Option, I think it’s kinda like the 737 that has options for derated n1 for takeoff and climb in the n1 page

Thank you Emmanuel, just by curiosity are you aiming for a TRI position at some point?

I'm considering it, but it would mean a lot less time in the air and a lot more time in the sim. Not sure if I want that. Perhabs at some point in the future when I might have kids. We'll see. But it's certainly something I'm considering.

I *think* you should have produced a commercial grade airbus tutorial... I would buy it in a heartbeat, not saying that these tutorials are by any mean any less, but I welcome extensive and in depth tutorials that take time to understand the entire framework of the plane. I guess you probably don't have time for that, though :( big fan nonetheless..
