I noticed the time it takes for the Trent 700 to go from 50% to TOGA/FLEX is actually quite long! 7 seconds!

Not sure if it might technically be able to get there quicker. If the RWY is long enough pilots increase throttle slowly to minimize the risk of an compressor stall.

@ Still, 7 seconds is quite a lot compared to the GE90 which is 3-4 seconds, or Trent 500 on the A340 that’s 2 seconds.

It’s programmed to do that to avoid fan flutter. It’s called MEASTO - modified engine acceleration schedule take off
