Ships can't really get them because for minelaying, almost exclusively, submarines (do they need more ways to make your life miserable?) and specific light vehicles (like German Drache). Air-dropped mines was a common thing, tho I never heard of Japanese ones. Also whole mechanic when 10 planes drop about 100 mines in one go is pure 🤡

@@cirnospaghet in fact already do, but it's besides the point. IJNAF had a good number of dedicated produced and prototype vehicles that would have been better fit. J8M rocket interceptors as manually controlled fighters with B7A as bombers/ torpedo bombers for example

As much as I don't really like carriers, I'm glad we're getting historical ones, I hope to see ships like USS Gambier Bay, HMS Ocean or IJN Shinano in the future.

Better then the Essex line. At least with mines you had to fuck up to take a load of damage. Their wasn't much the carrier could do to cause it. Essix line is the carrier player has any account of skill or doesn't matter what you do he will delete your dd

@@Valoord Great example of you not knowing how the game works given that the yamato has over 50% torpedo protection, so those 5 shima torps won't even do half the yamato's hp in damage but sure, cry about a old ass powercrept dd instead of the broken cv.

There is a way to defeat the MINES! Use ASW planes or Depth charges. They defeat the mines like how you defeat the submarines. The only ships that are HARD vulnerable to mines are CVs and Subs.

The best girl! Got to get her just for the P1Y1 Ginga bombers. While the AP bombs look really weak individually, note how the whole squadron drops at once, like Soviet planes. That should give it a slight durability buff during the attack run (this applies to all one-squadron one-drop planes, including tactical planes). And the naval mines are completely different than the ones originally tested as consumables, this time they look much more dangerous.

First timer is the timer until mines become active. Second timer is how long the mine field lasts until it expires.

They calling these "support carriers" just cuz they thrown some stolen DD gimmicks, and slightly better fighter consumable that will still be useless against a selfaware enemy CV. Why don't they make a CV line with manual fighters, like back in RTS - that would actually be a support CV - that would make it possible for your team to actually push. That would actually add a risk factor to playing a CV - which is probably why Wargaming won't ever do it.
