What a marvelous tutorial. I've been flightsimming for years but I avoided flying airliners sofar. Some of the things I already know off course everytime I think about skipping ahead you explain something I did not now yet. Even if one is starting to fly other airliners than the 310, these tutorials are great to fill the gap between flying GA and airliners.

I spawned on an airport without entering any flight plan on the world map, I started A310 from cold n dark, enter IFR plan into FMS manually, when i contacted tower for IFR clearance, it seemed not show me to the option to.... do we must enter the IFR high altitude plan on world map to make that work?

I have been struggling with calculating the QNH on the efb. When I pull up the vfr map and select my departure airport this is what it reads KIAH 110653Z 18004KT 7SM BKN008 BKN013 OVC060 22/21 A3001 RNK AO2 RAE0558 SLP162 P0000 T02220211 I don’t see anything with a Q in front of it as seems to show on yours. 3001 is the only number in that mix that seems like it would fit which i believe is the altimeter reading? However when I enter 3001 in the in the QNH field on the efb and hit calculate the QNH field lights up red as if the value entered is not correct or is out of bounds and no totals are calculated. Any assistance as to what I’m missing here is greatly appreciated. Thank you for the tutorials!

It depends on the airport. Airports in the US use the unit inHg for altimeter setting and is denoted in the METAR message as Axxxx, others use hPa and denoted as Qxxxx. In your case it’s A3001 which is 30.01 inHg. I assume you entered 3001 instead of 30.01.

how did you get the autopilot to fly the GS without both of them on....????

Land mode takes care of both the localiser and the glideslope but personally I use loc mode when intercepting the localiser and activate land mode when the glideslope begins to go down toward the center of my PFD and if you switch on the second autopilot after having activated land mode the plane lands on its own Completely its quite impressive, when both autopilot on it should say cat3 and dual on the PFD this mean it will land automatically

Basically with a single autopilot it does category 1 ils manual landing where u have to disconnect autopilot at about 200 hundred feets above runway and if both autopilots are on it does category 3 autoland
