Oh wie ich mich auf das Video gefreut habe und immer wieder gezweifelt hab ob es nun kommt - habs nun die ersten 2 Mal geschaut, werds noch ca. 300 Mal schauen bis zum 2023 Video :-) Vielen Dank - ich hätte da aber noch ein paar fragen: 1. @@aerophos True, many don‘t practise enough. At my local groundhandling spot (approx. 1-2 km2 of open park with very laminar winds) there‘s always about a dozen pilots when the wind is right. This shows that ppl want to practise, when there is an opportunity. These people don’t appear in the outtakes video, though ;)

Tell me about it. My whole club is a ground suck crew. Every time I arrive at the hill they tell me it's too dangerous and I reply it's ideal conditions. They want to ground me but I throw and go before they can do anything. While soaring I watch them pondering whether they should start too. At the club meeting I always suggest to hire a ground handle trainer for a weekend but they say it's not necessary.

Was da am Samstag ab Mittag los war, war wirklich nicht mehr lustig. Eigentlich hätte der Start- oder Veranstaltungsleiter abbrechen müssen. Viele Starts sind nur mit Glück nicht in das Gelände gerammt - egal welches Niveau die Piloten grundsätzlich hatten. Wir sind nicht gestartet, ich habe dann auch die freiwillige die Starthilfe (auslegen etc.) abgebrochen, weil es viel zu gefährlich war, wie man sieht. Wir sind mit der Gondel runter - safety first - fly next day. Bin froh, eine junge Pilotin beim Auslegen zusammen mit einem anderen zum Aufhören überredet zu haben. Sie hat sicher den nächsten Flug genossen. Aber unterm Strich zum gesamten Wochenende: Wir kommen wieder - es war ein tolles event.

Einzig vernünftiger Kommentar hier. Es geht in diesem Fall nicht um das können, sondern um das Wollen / Müssen. Bei so einem Testival MUSS man ja was testen. Also auch starten. Sonst is man ja umsonst hin gefahren. Das Ergebnis sieht man hier. Man erkennt, bei einigen, dass es nicht an den Skills liegt sondern an den krassen Bedingungen. Da kann man durchaus mal wieder einpacken. Dieser Sport ist für fixe Termine einfach nicht geschaffen.

Ähm meine Güte. Zum Glück war ich da nicht. Hätte mich wahrscheinlich die ganze Zeit aufgeregt und der Hälfte den Flugschein zerrissen. Danach die Flugschulen ausfindig gemacht und Anzeige erstattet 😂😅 ... Im ganzen Video drei vier Hochleister der rest A und B Tüten und selten ein C .. und die wo die Hochleister geflogen sind schaut mal wo die ihre Hände haben. Also Hammer wer alles nen Flugschein bekommt. So ein testival ist nix für erfahrene Piloten. Die Fliegen mal nen Schirm vom Freund oder holen sich einen Tester aber mit Hunderten Talent-freien Piloten am Berg zu stehen geht gar nicht. Da kann man sich das fliegen abgewöhnen.

@@TheNisse01 naja..ich hatte vor 3 Wochen ähnliche Start..Startversuche im Zillertal. Bin eigentlich n guter Starter, abe da waren extreme und merkwürdige Windbedingungen, das sogar die Tandems abgebrochen haben. War sehr Turbulent. Das hier sieht mir auch von den Bedingungen sehr turbulent aus. Vor allem bei dem einen der startet und dann wieder rückwärts fliegt. Da sollte man spätestens aufhören (wieso bremst der auch?). Ok..man kann natürlich auch argumentieren, das man dann einfach nicht startet. Wo ich mich eher aufrege, sind Landungen bei denen viele einfach umfallen. Haben die keine Körperkoordination oder keine Kraft? N bischen Sport dürfte manchen nicht weh tun.

@@labrikorn_3299 hab mir auch das zweite Video angeschaut... Da waren wenigstens Leute dabei die wissen wo der Wind am Landeplatz ansteht. Aber das besagte Video hat meiner Meinung nach nicht mit schlechten Bedingungen zu tun. Man sieht wie Hecktisch die mit den Händen zappeln und einfach ungeübt sind. Der Startleiter hat schon richtig entschieden. Natürlich ich war nicht vor Ort aber man hat gesehen das im ersten Video viele Anfänger dabei waren. Für dich die Entscheidung zu treffen nicht zu starten finde ich lobenswert das machen leider nicht viele und überschätzen sich. Heutzutage ist ein Schein schnell gemacht. Ich lebe im Allgäu und fliege eigentlich täglich und vor allem bei Starkwind. Es gibt halt zuviele Piloten die nur ein zwei mal im Jahr Urlaub machen und dann vielleicht 10 Flüge schaffen. Das ist denke ich mal das größte Problem. Also ich würde sagen wenn einer mindestens hundert Stunden im Jahr fliegt dann war das dort pilepale.

I haven't been to this event but isn't there any kind of a check before giving high end wings to any other pilot? Some guys were extremely lucky especially on the small take off which had a huge thermal right in front

@@marvinhofmann4965 Dafür kann es unterschiedliche Gründe geben. 1) Einfach vergessen, sich rechtzeitig vor der Landung im Gurtzeug aufzurichten. 2) Zuwenig angebremst. Ich wickele generell einmal die Bremsleinen vor der Landung, um immer nochmal etwas Extra-Auftrieb erzeugen zu können, falls notwendig. 3) Die Landegeschwindigkeit ist zu hoch (z.B. Rückenwindlandung) und der Pilot meint, nicht in der Lage zu sein, schnell genug laufen zu können, ohne zu Stolpern. 4) Kurz vor der Landung stellt sich starkes Sinken ein und der Pilot hat Angst um seine Kniegelenke. Ich habe mich vor gut 10 Jahren auch einmal verschätzt, und bin bei zu hoher Landegeschwindigkeit ins Stolpern gekommen und habe mir dabei das Schlüsselbein gebrochen. Das geht schneller als du denkst. Seitdem nutze ich in Ausnahmefällen zumindest teilweise auch mal meinen Airback im Gurtzeug.

Sieht danach aus als würden da einige (viele) ihre Fähigkeiten überschätzen... Ist zwar nur ein Ausschnitt aber das ist wirklich übel 😂

Das geht nicht nur dir als Anfänger so, das sollte eigentlich jedem Piloten so gehen wenn er diesen Zusammenschnitt sieht. Natürlich ist es nur ein Ausschnitt und man weiss nie was diese Piloten sonst für Schirme fliegen und für Skills haben. Und wenn Du mit nem fremden Schirm startest, kannst Du schonmal überrascht werden, solltest aber so affin sein, das sofort zu merken und den Schirm vor einem Startversuch halt mindestens auch einen Moment handeln. Wer aber bei einem optischen 20er Wind den Schirm beim Rückwärtsstart noch hochrupft als zöge er nen Stier in den Stall, der wird wohl auch sonst keine allzugrossen Handlingskills und Affinitäten haben. Sieht man oft bereits vor dem Hochziehen, dass die nichtmal in Windrichtung ausgelegt haben. 🤷‍♂️ Aufziehversuche bei Seitenwind kommen selten gut. Darum lernt man eigentlich auch gegen den Wind aufziehen und danach in Startrichtung zu unterlaufen - selbst das hat dann irgendwann seine Grenzen und dann wartet man halt auf ein passables Windfenster oder startet garnicht. Was da geboten wurde, wae schlichtweger Leichtsinn und Selbstüberschätzung. Testivals sind für mich keine Anlässe um höher kategorisierte Schirme zu testen machen leider viele aber, auch wenn das hier jetzt nicht durchwegs der Fall sein dürfte. Viele sind ja A und LowB Schirme da und die sind weder besonders schnell/dynamisch noch besonders instabil. Da muss man einfach ehrlich zu sich selber sein was man kann und was (noch) nicht. Ein guter Pilot ist einer welche sich selber einschätzen kann und konsequent einen Start auch seinlassen kann. Und nicht der, der sich bei jedee Gelegenheit über die Klippe haut. Nein sagen ist halt manchmal schwierig wenn man Bock auf Fliegen hat. Geht jedem Piloten so. Manchmal geht man halt unverrichteter Dinge nachhause oder sucht sich eine Alternative. Auch wenn andere fliegen. Hatten gestern vor zu fliegen. Fuhren an den Alpennordrand, erspähten bereits um 8:45 Föhnwalzen über dem Gebirge und ein sich aufbauendes Föhnloch, was das grosse Deuckgefälle Süd-Nord bestätigte. Manchmal bricht der Föhn durch, manchmal kannst den ganzen Tag fliegen. Gestern drehten wir um, während andere trotzdem flogen. Ich fliege lieber bis ans Ende meiner Tage als das es am Tagesende meln letzter Flug war.

The main problem is, that so many pilots wants to test new gliders. And every second pilot has an absolutely wrong self-assesement and takes a higher classified glider than his skill level allows. They forget, that an C or D glider needs more attention to keep it flying. The result is exactly the guy at 5:55 🤷‍♂️ I'm generally ashamed of videos like this, if I'm honest. It don't looks like long-standig, experienced pilots. More like complete novice pilots on the training slope... 🤷‍♂️ This Event, I call "Kössen flying circus". I never will takeoff this event. Too dangerous and too many pilots in the air, wich don't have any plan for flying in a crowded airspace. If you stand for about 1h at the landing-site, you will know what I mean. And Kössen is an absolutely easy place to fly for usual.

1 Thing i learned as a paraglider in training is: A failed take-off is a win if you cancel the take-off before going off-ground 1 thing i tell myself: A failed landing is still a win if you're not hurt, it just won't get you the gold medal. That being said...jesus fuck it looks like half of these guys are self trained. And not how it should...

Ich hab mich schon immer gefragt, warum in verschiedensten Foren so penibel über die Protektoren diskutiert wird. Ich war mir bis zu diesem Video gar nicht im Klaren, wie viele Piloten den Regelmäßig benötigen. Kein Wunder dass es da ein paar Schaumstofffanatiker gibt, die am liebsten nen Meter dicken Protektor dabei hätten... (ohne jetzt die Notwendigkeit der Protektoren weg reden zu wollen, aber das ist ja schon heftig was hier an den Tag gelegt wird)

Scary to see so many pilots can't properly start with a bit of wind and give way to much brake input and the 5:51 dude is lucky to be alive and should never "fly" a high end wing..

This was hilarious! Thank you for putting this up, not all goes well as in the shiny promo video haha! There's a lot to learn in this video, especially on launch. Myself I'm crap at landing but didn't learn a lot from any of these unless in a pod harness: Looks cool to get out at the last second but if a leg gets stuck looks way more ridiculous than a butt landing!

Can someone explain why no one helps when they see another pilot struggeling. There are numerous ocasions where surronding people would have helped but instead stood they watching while the pilot's wing flipped or dragged him across the takeoff area. Like, is this the norm at takeoffs in Euroup?

@@silvioz1566 it’s truly strange that in such a high risk sport there exist a non supportive or caring culture Where I fly there are several people to help one to takeoff safely (as much as possible) as it’s the most critical stage

As an “old” hang glider pilot it just amuses me seeing paraglider pilots trying to launch their parachutes in the rotor formed as the wind blowing up the face cascades just above the hill. Rotors are a killer.
