Our Airedale had a 5-pound plaster bulldog that she pushed around the floor for 2 years until it was a 4-pound shapeless lump. The growling, barking, and spastic body language were exactly the same. She loved that bulldog. RIP Adrian.

+B D My maternal grandmother had 4 Airedales growing up. They were all named after comic strip characters: Paddington, Hobbes, Lucy, and Sadie. Unfortunately, the last one, Sadie, was put down back in 2014, or 2015. :( I've never forgotten them.

Like most Airedales, Buddha appears to also be engaged in performative entertainment of his human(s). He not only is watching the toy, but he also appears to be watching and responding to his human watching him watching the toy and modulating his response to the cues he picks up on from his human’s responses. The emotional read intelligence of most Airedales and how they learn from and also shape their human’s responses to them are what make Airedales so incredibly precious and wonderful and, unfortunately, for some humans, so challenging to “manage” if they don’t understand how “Airedales work.” The human companions of Airedales must fully embrace the “Airedale Terrier Dog-ness” qualities as part of their human and canine bond. You can tell that that’s going on in the video clips of Buddha Boy!

DutchDi that must be tough, so sorry. Funny, as Grenson’s first name before he came to us was Louis. I think you should laugh :) they are fools and so delightful, you just have to - however sad. But I am so sorry about Lewis. Strange, he died the same day as my dad, one year ago now too. Take care. Thank you for your message.
