Fabulous stuff David. You'll see it again in the forthcoming video. Re-usable and keeps quite well. Cheers

Hopefully manufacturers will start to take up the idea of the spine piece from Kotare's 1/32 kit. Also, a two-piece engine top cowling and fuel tank cover/ fuselage half is a pain that can be avoided in the kit moulding. Great work John.
@johnalecsscalemodeling
@johnalecsscalemodeling Жыл бұрын
Hey thank you Phil. I guess leaving the engine cowlings off was a bit of an escape for me trying to join and then make seamless the cowl top. I must agree, a one piece top (and tank cover) would be brilliant. Thanks for watching

I can vouch for that reusable putty- it’s rather good. However, I found that it behaves like a liquid when left and therefore runs down sloping or vertical surfaces- rather irksome if leaving one’s masking overnight before painting!
@johnalecsscalemodeling
@johnalecsscalemodeling Жыл бұрын
Thank you Zinzan - it absolutely does behave as more liquid when left to the elements. It melts. I just use it to mask paint and unmask.

Amazing work John the crazy putty is really handy for the camo now for the dreaded part of the build gluing the two halves of the fuselage together 👍👍

Thank you Stan and I appreciate you watching. Oh yes it can, there are a few brush painters in the realm. I think the Humbrol enamels are good for painting with a brush. Or Revell/Testors. Are you on Discord? I can put you in touch with folks who just do planes brush painting. Cheers

Hey John, what do you use for cleaning airbrush after primer?
@johnalecsscalemodeling
@johnalecsscalemodeling 10 ай бұрын
Hiya buddy - I use Mr Color Thinner (not the leveling) for lacquers and enamels, or Tamiya paints as they dilute with it. I know it's expensive but nothing cleans it better. I get it in the 400ml bottles and use it as sparingly as possible. For other acrylics I will flush with water to get rid of paint/thinner mix, then flush with Mr Hobby Thinner (aqueous) to clean. Cheers
