Nice one mate!... I got an Airfix 1/72 Buccaneer the other day it has decals for HMS Eagle... I went on board HMS Eagle when it visited NZ in the early 70's and I fell in love with the Buccaneer and been interested ever since 👍✈️🇳🇿

When the Martel missile came into service the wing pylons had to be moved slightly further apart so opening the correct holes in the wing panels is going to be pretty important for the marking option you choose

Airfix have improved massively recently and yes some of there newest kits would rival Tamiya. But so do the prices, I built the 1:24 Hellcat earlier this year and its a stunning kit and model when built. I hope you build it, if it pisses you off put it to one side for a while until the enthusiasm returns. 👍

Have to agree with that matey.. how do you design better models that scale modellers will love?.. Hire scale modellers!!
@memememe26742 жыл бұрын
The engineering and research as improved yes BUT quality of moulding and the QC to stop the crap reaching us is defo not Tamiya. I don't but AF anymore, to many sink marks, partial moulding of parts, clear parts are dire and the horrible cheap plastic.

Looks like an interesting nicely tooled kit however $120.00 dollors here in the states is a bit much for a kit also why since they retooled the kit why didnt the company Airfix put more decal options in the kit Like RAF or South African?
@tonyosborne90082 жыл бұрын
The part options in this kit don't allow for RAF or SAAF versions, they will need a lot of different parts including bombay, different slipper tanks, weapons etc.

If a kit builder wants this aircraft type and the kit is the only example in 1/48, a preferred scale and there is not another and the sticker price is fair and reasonable, a kit builder may need to deny themself some regular treat, say a nice chardonnay, six pack of imported suds, a visit to the towns pleasure palace or even a bunch of, "please forgive me" Geraniums for the Mrs, just because you're a thoughtful guy, and covering some anticipated future bases, just in case, then for goodness sake dig deep, swallow hard and by the darn kit.
