Lovely job👍. I’ve still got a stash of these original 1/24th models in my loft (Spitfire, Hurricane, ME109E (2!), P51D and Ju87B) for when I get round to starting up modelling again (stopped in my 30s - now 65 and retired!). Seeing on KZbin the advances in injection moulding and modelling techniques is a great motivator! The original models were accompanied by books which you could buy separately, written by Roy Cross and Gerald Scarborough. I’ve still got them too! The books provided a history of the aircraft, with loads of detailed photos, plus a whole section on how to construct and add much more detail to the models. Great memories which I hope to build on! Cheers for posting this.

Thanks Jon, appreciate the feedback. You certainly have a great collection - sometimes these simpler older kits are a more enjoyable built than some current kits with thousands of pieces 😀 Having the accompanying books would be a real bonus!

I built this exact model in 1972 (I was in 5th grade so nowhere near as beautifully as you did). So glad it's still being made.

Thanks, it was really great to build and also brings back memories of model building when young! More money now to get better equipment:)

@@MrTigMilitaryModels I forgot about things like the individual wing panels over the guns and the other details. Brought back a flood of memories. Thanks for that

Don't know but with my own model, had to "correct" dihedral angle, as originally when I finished the building of the model, wings were ridiculously flat so I decided to cut wing root and create the correct angle. Your work is outstanding.

Hi Charlie, yes agree totally. The dihedral angle should be 6 degrees, so some under filing (or cutting) helps adjust this. Thanks for your feedback! It was an enjoyable build 🛫

Nice build - I too am building this model and I can’t believe the amount of excess flash on the parts. The worst I have ever seen. Also the cowl fit is terrible on it as well. I am installing an electric motor in mine with the batteries and switch in the stand. I am using a small audio jack on the stand and in the model so I can remove it from the stand. I like your model a lot, I hope I can do it justice like you have done. 👍

Yes, lots of flash I think from the 1970s moulds. Soft plastic too. Some filler required on the cowl. Great model for an electric motor! A really enjoyable build & a classic. Thanks for your comments. Enjoy 😊

Did this kit have the guns in the wings with ammunition box?
