Love this kind of exercises. I call it “false finger bendings” and after first learning how it works and everything, now i do clarke, scales and similar schemes. It helps me a lot on focus everything, not only in the sound but in the double highs. Keep the nice work and THANK YOU for sharing this great know How to worldwide 👏

Can you explain better the part on you say “…isn’t lips but level tongue…” please ?? Cheers.

I’ve gone into more detail on that in the other bending videos I mentioned. When I’m done teaching later, I’ll update the video description with the links to those videos. If they don’t make it clearer, then let me know and I’ll make another video to try and explain.

Bryan Davis - Airflow Music they’re clear, all of them. My question it’s about your approach and what you’ve said of “...tongue than lips itself...” Aren’t the lips reacting somehow to make a Bend ? I know it’s different, but like the Fluterzung, the lips react to this technique effect making a different action on lips. Perhaps I don’t understood. Thank you for replaying 👍

You’ve basically said what I’m alluding to. Yes, the lips react to the air. However, I’m not actively doing anything with my lips to play a note-bend, or anything else for that matter. I’m letting them respond to the airstream and do whatever they need to do. The thing I’m actively doing to focus the airstream and produce the bent pitch, rather than the less resistant slot the trumpet “wants” me to play, is to adjust my core compression and (mainly) tongue level. I feel my tongue flatten a little as the bend sounds.
