Lewis and Clark took air rifles with them on their expedition to the Pacific because they didn't want to rely entirely on gunpowder. Diversity of technology is still useful in today's world in case things gets weird and firearm ammunition becomes difficult to obtain. To that end, it might not be a bad idea to have one of these around.

Absolutely agree 💯 with ya and that was what made me "pull the trigger" pun intended, and get a .22 because that's all they had in stock and I felt strongly about this Huben. I listen to my gut and damn good thing too, simply love this ,maybe 5x more than my FX Wildcat Mk3 Compact. 30 😊 lol

Legally, this is not a magazine, for no pellets are moved from a magazine to sit in a chamber prior to firing. Hence, this is a revolver cylinder where one manually loads each chamber, which self indexes and self cocks the trigger.
@blueplasma5589

Also, shouldn't be printed "rifle" on the pistol, or is it better legally? It,s opposite of AR-15 pistol.

we still call our revolver cylinders "mags" in the airgun world. sometimes they do come in stick mags too, but yeah they are cylinders. but we think of cylinders as long, so we should call them Pucks.
@perarduaadastra873
@perarduaadastra873 28 күн бұрын
@ Sure. :-) The distinction is only important because emotionally driven none evidence based antigun legislators in some nations prohibit “self loading” and not “self indexing” and “self cocking”. Anti-gunism does not like the fluidity and grace of a short time interval between shots, imagining in their minds that this is a special threat (to public safety) that must be stopped by prohibition. Hence, some nations have self indexing and self cocking airguns that would not be allowed if they were self loading. Anti-gunism is too often not about logic.

The hammerless system in these guns should be utilized more in the airgun industry. Super easy to tune, easy to maintain, and extremely powerful. My LCS is a tank and so worth every penny! Great system, and amazing guns.

At the performance you said for one of these I might actually get one for plinking. I can guarantee them 25cal pellets are cheaper than ammunition for actual firearms although I've not compared the 22 and 25cal pellets to anything yet. Certainly looks like a great time. Air guns are officially starting to get close to actual guns. They still have some room for improvement but I like how I'm starting to see some that are actually impressive in performance. I just wish they would start coming down in price but they are such a new technology being developed that I understand why they are so pricey. Now we just need the same fps in 45cal pellets and size reduced so it can be worn appendix carry and I see these being pretty popular. Would be interested in knowing if adding vaseline to the back of these pellets improve performance as they do in a pump action or if that is just because the grain is so low on .177 pellets.

Air rifles/pistols are certainly an expensive "off the shelf" proposition. There is no denying that, especially with the high end options. But if you shoot a lot, when you're five or ten thousand rounds into it, they start to become a very good value proposition, indeed. The amount of money that you don't spend on ammunition is considerable. The other beauty is that you can use these things in confined spaces.

My one critique of this gun is a big one. It damages the shirt while loading the pellet. Same thing with the Huben K1 Air Rifle. Which produces a lot of flyers. Make sure to hold the spring flap down so you're not putting any pressure on the pellet skirt. Or you will never get consistent groups.

I had a 13mm shaft on a small air compressor twist off like a Tootsie Roll just from ordinary use - this happens when the contractor gradually removes quality or materials over various production lots, just to save pennies. Read "Poorly Made in China" for an eye-opening look at how Americans get shafted when they send their specs overseas for production there.

Is this gun regulated? And how many shots per air fill (within 4%ES) for .22 and .25? And what is max air pressure?
@Jaden48108
@Jaden48108 Жыл бұрын
The answer to that is you'll want to fill the gun back up to pressure after shooting all the rounds that are loaded. 5,000 psi is max air pressure for this pistol due to its carbon fiber tank. It could still fire way beyond that pressure- such is the strength of carbon fiber. As an airgun enthusiast getting to 3,000 psi is an achievement in and of itself. But 5K? Wow.

With the suppressor and a suitable backstop (fireplace, brick wall, etc.) you could probably practice in your living room even in an apartment you could practice every day if you wished. Again, with the caveat that you have a SUITABLE BACKSTOP. As to its effectiveness, well at close range this pistol should be able to penetrate the chest wall and the heart, or the skull and that makes this a lethal weapon. A few well-placed shots in the face would be enough to discourage, disable, or even kill an attacker. But as with all guns shot placement is king. It doesn't matter what you're shooting, a .22 or a .50, powered by air or gunpowder makes no difference. Shot placement wins altercations, not magazine capacity or bore diameter. And as stated, you'd have no excuse whatsoever for not being a deadeye shot with this thing. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and to me this Huben pistol very much is the holy grail. It checks so many boxes that no other airgun ever has before. At roughly .22 LR power levels it has the power to kill small game and serve as a defensive weapon if the need arises. It has more than adequate shot count and high mag capacity. And one area where it positively smokes all other PCP handguns to date is that it manages to pack all those virtues into a package that truly is pistol sized. Comparing it to something like the AEA HP Max is not valid at all as calling the Max a 'pistol' is something of a stretch. I have one and I love it, particularly its combination of massive power and compact size. But it's a carbine, not a pistol. You're not going to see many people out walking the woods with a holstered Max hanging from their belt. The only other genuine PCP handgun I consider powerful enough to be at least an expedient self-defense weapon is the Rex-P, but for a handgun it's huge and clumsy and heavy and for self-defense purposes the single-shot and slow reload heavily weighs against it. What are my qualifications for stating these things? I'm a former metro police officer with years of experience in a crime-infested armpit of a city. I've exchanged bullets with bad guys and I've unfortunately had to shoot someone. Doesn't make me an expert at anything but I'm no amateur either. As always in discussions over using airguns for self defense, the idea is that the people wanting to do this can't possess firearms for this purpose for any number of reasons, most of them related to strict laws controlling firearms possession. Nobody is suggesting that someone adopt an air gun instead of an appropriate firearm as his primary self-defense tool. But there are so many places, or legal or other problems individuals have, that prohibit firearms possession or make it so impractical that it might as well be impossible. For those people yes the GK1 is looking pretty holy-grail-ish lately.

Nice to see the innovation and technology getting so good. I'll wait until there's one that has a less frustrating process to reload/unload and that can have the pressure tank depressurized for maintenance and storage (and for general safety). Very nice gear though, I'm sure in some future version it'll have even more awesomeness.

Huben GK1: Can ANYONE tell me if there's a limit stop for the power adjustment screen? Or does it back out until it falls out? Or blows out under pressure? I am trying to find out just how far the power screw can be adjusted. I have a reconditioned GK1 .25 that seems weak even with the screwed bscked out 2-1/2 turns. I'm shooting 25gr pellets with a full fill yet only getting 720 FPS which is much less than others are claiming. Can I turn it out 3 turns? Out 3-1/2?

I have just one question about filling. I have just got my Huben GK1, but I have noticed that the fill probe does not fit to my Hill MK4 hand pump. Have you got any idea how to fix it? Should I buy a kind of adapter/converter, or simply another, compatible filling equipment?

Did you "quiet" the sound during the zombie test? It doesn't sound any louder than when you have the sound moderator accessory installed.

The microphones don't do it justice. You can have a suppressed and unsupressed air rifle shot back to back in a video and you couldn't tell much difference in volume but rather just HOW it sounds. a suppressed air gun is stupid quiet.

yessss! i have a very similar air compressor and i wondered if it would work to fill this since i dont know anything about air guns yet beyond a classic daisy 880 or a crossman break barrel .177cal pellet rifle. lol this pistol you're showing looks amazing! people are complaining about the price but its the BEST, its supposed to be really nice and really expensive. haha pay for what ya get.

So many weird things that are hard to get used to with airgunning. I almost gagged when I saw you put the allen key in "the crown" of the barrel. It is not the crown bc its an airgun. I shoot a few nice air rifles and there is still some old habits. It would be cool if the suppressor was squared off though.
