This is a Mule Deer hunt with my Airforce Texan .457 Big bore airgun. I took this beautiful 4x6 buck. I shot him at about 140 yards.
I used my stock Airforce Texan cf/tx2 shooting a VIP Ammo 390grn rebated boat tail hollowpoint.

Congrats ! I wish NM let us hunt elk and mulie with airgun.They allow javelina and Ive taken one last two years with airgun .Benjamin bulldog 357 first year and evanix rex p carbine 50 cal last season.Gonna do it again this year with another different airgun

U did good,jus go ahead n break down n buy u an ATN Xsight pro 4k smart scope,that's wat I have on my Texan 457 air ordnance up grade,ull love it ,best in the business, also built in range finder, one push button video, n more,etc... it's worth it

@@ColoradoAirgunnerdid the slugs go clean through and what kind of damage was done. The HP 349 gr I have cast for mine have done huge 1 7/8 holes clear through. I have been very happy with the long range accuracy of my texan lss cf .457 .I have shot it out to 325 yards so far in practice and 51 yards on a black bear and have been very happy with its performance. It was 1 shot and the work begins.

I had a Vortex Diamondback Tactical 4-16x44 but have switched it out for a much better Element Optics Helix 4-16x44.

Hey bro I just chronographed my Texan . 457 with the cf tx2. I used the NSA 290. I got 857 fps.... Is that normal range for a stock CF Texan .457?

It seems a little low. I was getting about that same speed with a 390 grain. You. You may need to adjust your power wheel and apply more tension to the hammer Spring.

Just my bone stock Texan .457 CF/TX2 doing 600fpe. I had some trouble with my AAO gun and had to use my back up gun.

Congratulations man on your mule deer but see that's what I don't like about the Texan air rifle if you would have had a magazine-fed gun you could have just flipped it a whole lot quicker than digging around trying to put another bullet in there for a second shot that's why I will never hold a air rifle that's not magazine-fed

I love my ATNs but most western states don't allow them for big game season. In Idaho you can't even put a camera on your scope or gun. In Colorado you can't even have an illuminated reticle.

9 minutes in, you're holding your rifle by the front objective of the scope. Ive been a Benchrest shooter for years, and that's something we never do is carry a rifle by a scope or the objective lens. don't have to make this comment public, but I want to let you know that.
