I am considering getting a air pistol, but some are quite expensive comparing to a also quality air rifle, so that make me a bit apprehensive

It's normal.. A pistol has all parts that a rifle have.. just smaller :)

@@danubeairguns Well they do have shorter barrels, so on account of that they should at least be a little cheaper.
