I fell in love to this song. In the backseat of my mom’s car on Angel’s Crest in the coldest, darkest winter night, and you felt so warm. Hearing it now I feel like I can still hear your voice softly singing its chorus. My eyes close and your head is in my lap, my fingers tracing the outline of your body as I sing along with you. So soft. So warm. So beautifully sweet. You were the last thing I ever expected to come into my life, and I got to share such a beautiful song with you and call it ours. I felt truly happy. I felt loved. And in that moment I saw an entire life with you. Now, I saw you for the last time yesterday and now I can’t help to think of what could’ve been. I’m sorry our time was so short. I’m sorry I didn’t know how to communicate. I’m sorry I couldn’t be the person I am now back then. And I’m sorry I was too late to change your mind. I loved you Karina, and I wish we had more time together so I was able to tell you that. It may be selfish, but I really hope one day we meet again, and that the spirals of our lives intertwine again. And that this time, is the right time. That we can listen to our song and fall in love all over again on new terms, reliving what we felt in that moment. I truly hope that dream you had of us on the train was a sign. And until then I’ll think of you with every spiral I see, every grape I peel, and every time I play this song. I love you. - C

I always try To keep my eyes from closing besides I still see you It seems so right To think of the time we could have tonight And it's so cold It seems my hands Are colder than yours, warm me up inside Your face turns red and so does mine And we climb all around You stare into my eyes and watch me Drown inside You whisper to me softly as I lie You shine so bright A light inside my head i love the thought Of staring at you Asleep at night Kaleidoscopic thoughts of me and you And you're just so cool For me to see The life we'd have and we'd tell everyone Your face turns red and so does mine And we climb all around You stare into my eyes and watch me Drown inside You whisper to me softly as I lie I always try To keep my eyes from closing besides I still see you Asleep at night Kaleidoscopic thoughs of me and you And it's so above my way of life And we climb all around You stare into my eyes and watch me Drown inside You whisper to me softly as I lie And we climb all around You stare into my eyes and watch me Drown inside You whisper to me softly as I lie

This is a more accessible version of shoegazing for most people and people I know still don't like it. There is no hope for them. If they can't listen to this and Shirley Temple Tidal Wave, they won't be able to appreciate the original shoegazing bands like Ride and Lush.

If you think about it, Carlton Lassiter had a very depressing life. His parents got divorced and he blamed his Mom and himself for it, a tough job in law enforcement, losing his partner because of Shawn, had trouble making new friends, lash out his anger at people at the bar he goes to, and in the movie he gets shot at and avoids Marlowe because of his insecurity. This song was the happiest point of his life when he got married.
