When you dont tape off the trim and do by hand do you hand cut the window trim side to the siding? Or do you spray the side of the trim the body color and paint the front of the trim and the inside edges so you dont have to hand cut or tape line cut the window trim to body colors?
@marcosgarcia20362 жыл бұрын
Iv always only seen the faces of the trim painted it looks uniform also was taught to do this .The sides stay the same color as body.

Bahahahah every painter is different I have never in my 5 yrs of painting work found a painter that tapes off and sprays the same as any other painter its hit and miss but the aftermath is always the same, good clean work. Sometimes you run into people that have no right spray painting but nothing a good touch up cant fix.
@arielmetamorphosis4 жыл бұрын
@@austin0360 Well yes indeed but it is always a great benefit to learn more techniques and ways one could do a better, and more importantly, a more efficient job. Our boss doesn't much how we do the job, but rather, whether we get done or not! Cheers!

@@arielmetamorphosis I own my own painting business and I see your point, i work full time and as hard as my employees. I used to have bosses like yours which is why I decided to become my own boss. I dont want to tell you to become your own boss and start your own business but you should definitely try to take a leadership position as I always look for people to take charge in what they like to do.
@arielmetamorphosis4 жыл бұрын
@@austin0360Congrats! Becoming your own boss is the only way one can work in their own fashion and pace, you reap the benefits but you also face the professional responsibilities of a company. In my case I have to hold on for a while under a foreman, till I gain the experience and trust of the bosses to go out on my own or something! I ain't mad or anything but sometimes I feel I can do more than what they think I can, but being a small business it's hard to get the senior painter off the sprayer and let himself be helped with it and with the 🙌 high level work!

Hey Chris! Coming from Connellsville,PA! I have a impact 440. I do the FFLP tips, and run the gauge at the sprayer to measure the pressure. I get a lot of build up where the paint runs, and overspray everywhere! I notice you don’t worry about staying parallel to the wall. I try to follow all the remove overspray recommendations. What in the world could I be doing wrong? Thanks for the content!
@austin03604 жыл бұрын
Adam I would recommend sweeping as light as you can on your first coat, most runs come from heavy depositing on the first sweep then depositing another heavy coat on the second try going as light as you can both times and if you think you need an extra coat wait till it dries a couple hours before going over it again.

I'm a painting i remember many moons ago i was spraying a garage door with a high-volume low-pressure (Hvlp) sprayer the paint was so atomized that the paint went through a crack an hit a brand new Cadillac through the garage needless to say I use tarps drops when cars are in the garage or mask it a little differently

Great video. Attempting to paint my house solo with my Graco this summer. Quick troubleshooting question. My Graco has been sitting in my garage for about a year. I flushed it with water to clean everything and noticed that water leaks out the gun when pressurized. Didn't happen when I loaded it with paint though. Is there an o-ring or something that has to be replaced?
@racsop704 жыл бұрын
@@jorgeo1492 Thanks. I called Graco technical support and they says if you run water through it, you will have a bit of leakage. Once I loaded it with paint, there was no issues. Will try cleaning the filter and running pain thinner through it. I heard anti-freeze is a cheap long term storage solution to use. Thoughts anyone?

I always thought it was important to keep the gun totally perpendicular to the work surface that you're painting it seems as if you spray in a totally different direction when you end your stroke I would think it affects the look of the paint
