Honestly God bless you for these videos. They make so much more sense to me than the Sportys videos and the Embry Riddle videos. The way you break it down is phenomenal.

I’m nearing the end of ground school. So, using these videos as a review to help prepare for the written exam. These are very helpful. I appreciate that they are short bc it gives the option to either watch multiple or just one or two when you have time.

I come from the old school, and the chalkboard made a world of difference in walking thru and seeing the concepts come to life right in front of you. Any questions? Nope, it makes perfect sense to me now. Wheels up to you and keep up the good work and content. The world of future aviators will be watching, following, and counting on you!

0:10 stability is the ability of the aircraft to correct for disturbances in its equilibrium and return to its original flight path 0:53 two types of stability •Static- initial tendency or immediate reaction after control input or one of the 3 axis are changed by an outside force 1:25 positive static- when airplane wants to return to flight path after moving up 1:37 neutral- if airplane stays in same pitch 1:42 negative static- if airplane continues to pitch up 1:59 Dynamic- airplanes response overtime to an upset in the equilibrium. 2:01 positive dynamic- airplanes oscillates before returning to normal flight path 2:20 neutral dynamic- if plane stays oscillating 2:24 negative dynamic- if oscillations get worse 2:38 longitudinal stability -nose is heavy in the airplane because usually the CG is in front of the center lift or center of pressure - 3:02 horizontal elevator is designed with a slight negative angle of attack so it asserts a downward pressure. This allows the airplane to be balanced at the optimum cruising speed. It is pretty much an upside down wing. If airplane slows down below optimum speed, the elevator won’t crate enough pressure to hold plane down. With more speed it will cause the nose to pitch down more 3:51 lateral stability on longitudinal axis -dihedral- low wing aircraft -keel effect- high wing aircraft 5:00 directional stability -occurs from weather vane affect and it’s achieved from the vertical tail on the aircraft -the relative wind will keep pushing the vertical tail back until it is in line

1. Static stability is very helpful 2. Dynamic stability looks to be something to measure turbulences 3. Lateral stabulity measures an effect of a wind

4:49 Pendulum stability or the 'keel affect' is a myth. High-wings are more stable because of the high and low pressure zones that develop on the sides of the fuelage beneath the wing during sideslip. A simple free-body diagram of the forces of lift and weight will show that the weight cannot produce a moment about the aircraft CG.

4:27 How does the wing in front have an increased angle of attack? I thought angle of attack is relative to the pitch axis?
@FreePilotTraining
@FreePilotTraining Жыл бұрын
Not necessarily. It has do do with relative wind. Relative wind directly opposes the airplane’s direction of travel

Basically the plane is designed to make small adjustments automatically to re-balance the flight. If the wind pushes the nose upwards, the plane uses its auto trimming to pitch it back down 😊
