Duane died in 1971 in a motorcycle accident in Macon Georgia. A year later in November 1972,their bass player Berry Oakley also died in a motorcycle accident a block away from where Duane died. They had several guitar players over the years Dickie Betts played with them until about 2000. The last 2 guitarist until their end were Derek Trucks and Warren Haynes, who are both great guitarists.

The Allman Brothers Band released a box set in the late 80s that got people re-interested in the band. Gregg got the boys back together and were touring again. In 1994, they released their first studio album in years, "Where It All Begins." It was a triumphant return with many great tracks. It's so good that it is rated on par with the ABB's best albums. Check the whole album out.

The guitarists on this song are Dickey Betts and Warren Haynes. Haynes is also the author of this song. If you guys are enjoying the Allman Brothers, you should also try Haynes’s other band, Government Mule. If the two drummer thing impresses you, also try out the Tedeschi Trucks Band. Guitarist Derek Trucks was a member of the Allman Brothers from 1999 - 2014 and was also Allman drummer Butch Trucks’s nephew. Widely considered to be the best living guitarist, Derek Trucks has, more than anyone else carried on the spirit of the Allman Brothers with Tedeschi Trucks Band. It also features his wife, Susan Tedeschi, Whois an amazing vocalist as well as two drummers. Also, you have to do the Grateful Dead. The Allmans and the Dead were two sides of the same coin.

@@sblair6362 that’s not accurate. Warren wrote Soulshine in the 80s while he was a staff songwriter in Nashville. This was before he was associated with Gregg. It was Gregg’s suggestion the Allman Brothers record it though. He had heard Larry NcCay’s version, liked it a lot, and thought it would be a good fit for the ABB.
