I did it! Batteries were $10 for two. First one took 1hr. Second one took 20 minutes. Wife thought I was crazy to attempt this. Tip - Before sliding the new battery in take out the shim that keeps the battery snug in the chamber. It is not needed and without it the battery slides all the way in easier. Thanks for the video!

@@ThePine21 batteries lasted like originals. Within a day of replacing them both buds wouldn't work at the same time. I tried everything to get them to link at the same time. The one that was working, I would take out of my ear and then the other would start playing. I got fed up with it and my wife bought my pro’s for Christmas.

This is absolutely nuts. It doesn't even seem like it require much fancy equipment other than a hot air station, plus a soldering iron and some kind of homemade clamp. I can't imagine how many must've been broken just to perfect this repair. Bravo REWA!

I find that a 3D printer with a heated bed is a great way to soften adhesive without damage. For small electronics like this I put them on a microfiber cloth on the heated bed, then cover them with a (microwave/oven safe) glass or ceramic bowl, set the bed to 100C and it keeps the inside an exact 100C all around. And while we're talking about a 3D printer, it'd be very easy to design and 3D print a clamp for this

thanks to this video 👍👍👍👍 (airpods1 & 2) I replaced batteries replaced speaker replaced mash/grill even repaired speaker broken coil wire. soon will try to replace battery in case. P.S I don't have any fancy repair tools, I did all with a pair of tweezers, a hair dryer, 0.1mm steel strip, temp control soldering iron and 3 years of diy soldering experience and I'm not a repair shop guy. I just love to fix things.

I don't really trust them but I've tried to find out if it's fake but every detail feels the same with my original one bought from apple.

Imagine you must use the solder alloy 60% tin, 38% lead, 2% silver - for the lowest possible melting point, in order to minimise any possible damage. Great job, compliments. Imagine if Apple was a repair-friendly, user-centric company, and provided the headphone with a user-replaceable battery, say that lower stem containing the battery was a screw-in, replaceable component, sold for 10 dollars. What a pity. And an eco-failure...
