The translations were pretty good. The problem with Chinese translation is that there are way too many dialects and Dennis was not speaking quote on quote the best Mandarin either. It even thinks that Dennis is speaking Taiwanese accent so it switches to Traditional Chinese. This would be much better with European languages as rhey are more similar abd more standardized as less people use them. But honestly, the translation feature is too much of a hussle to be considered useful. If you qant google assisitant get it. If you don't get a jaybird or whatever

Christopher Yiwei Liang Mandarin is a single standardized dialect, so there is no dialect issue at all. Furthermore, traditional or simplified characters are used based on the settings not somebody’s accent. I will agree though that Dennis is clearly not a fluent speaker of Mandarin.

FOR THOSE IN AUSTRLIA. Steer clear of the Jaybird X3's if you are any kind of likely to loose the little charging clip required to charge them. They do not sell them in Australia, and they do not have stock to send them to you if you contact support. They will ask you to organise freight forwarding from america, which costs more than the accessory pack itself. After a long argument, they are now shipping me a whole new set of headphones, because they couldn't get me the stupid charging clip, but it has taken me nearly 3 months to get to this point..

VanSanPro I was thinking the cable would pick up neck sweat quite a bit when working out. After a while it would build up salt and probably smell gross. As for the little piece of fabric cable that fits into your ear to keep it snug, unless you clean your ears religiously, that's gonna get dirty too. I just think a silicone or plastic cable would've been a better idea. As for regular earbuds, they drape down your tits and don't pick up sweat nearly as much. But if you don't work out these would probably be just fine. That's all just my "theory". Could be wrong.

I returned my Pixel buds. Severe connection issues with my Pixel 2 XL. After receiving my buds I started having numerous "dropped" calls. I discovered that the calls were not dropped but were suddenly routed through the Pixel buds even though they were stored properly in the case. Google support guided me through a factory reset which consisted of pressing the button inside the Pixel buds case for 40 seconds and reconnecting with the phone. Problem continued. I sent them back for a refund and replaced them with Bose Soundsport wireless. Much better sound on both ends, no connection issues so far, extremely comfortable and MUCH more secure in the ears.

it's which ever you prefer but AirPods are obviously designed specifically for Apple consumers. The w1 chip lets them connect seamlessly to any apple device and you can customize the controls of the AirPods in settings. So yeah, AirPods for Apple consumers is way more flexible. it's like the HomePod, amazing for people who have an Apple ecosystem but it's okay for others who don't, maybe even be considered dumb for some.

I have the pixel buds and absolutely love them. The wire may not be liked but I love how they can hang round your neck. The sound is really, really good imo and the Google integrations is really smooth and responsive. Heck, they even stay in(which cannot be said about many earphones I have tried in the past) I do have a few issues though. One problem is the gesture controls for turning up and down volume. Sometimes it will pause music, and sometimes it may cause it to slip out your ear due to the pull the your finger on the bud. But I can actually see myself getting used to that and finding a way to do that without it slipping out. Another is the pairing, which doesn't make clear, to me anyway, that you had to take off the protective covering of the magnets before charging. Wouldn't work until that happened, then pairing was easy. Lastly, the tap for Google assistant is so sensitive that I may be turning up controls and it thinks I want to talk to the assistant, or I may be putting it in the case and I just hear the weird deep voice giving a hint about how to use him for the 8th time(I counted). Overall though, these are actually some of the best earphones I have worn, and I even believe I prefer them over my £45 wireless headphones that sadly broke due to probably me. Sorry for this quite comprehensive look, but I wanted to talk about how awesome I think these buds are with their minor flaws(imo).

Honestly, just a recommendation, I got the Taotronics tt-bh07 about a year ago, I lost them, couldn't live without so bought another set, and now about 10 of my friends have them.... They are absolutely amazing, they pair about as instantly as you would ever need, have pretty amazing connection stability, seemingly infinite battery life with ridiculously short charging times. Sound pretty awesome tbh, stay in your ear properly, I think you get the point.... The best part, only 23 euros (not sure if they are sold in America and if so for how much, but just this deal)

I don't personally think that the whole "not truly wireless" thing is an issue at all, like you say in the video it can be more helpful for keeping track of the headphones and it means you never have to put them down, you can just let them hang while you're not using them, I prefer it.

I do not understand this new trend with wireless earbuds. If i'm going to spend that much money on headphones they better be some overear headphones with great sound quality or else I'm just as content with the pair of earphones that comes with the phone.

They can have great sound quality, the wireless feature means you can keep your phone in your pocket without accidentally yanking the earbuds out, you can leave your phone on a table and get up to do something, and they're less likely to break because there's no wire connecting them to your phone. I have a pair of Bose wireless earbuds and they sound slightly better than my $100 over-ear Razer headphones. If you listen to music often while you're out and about, do yourself a favor and get some quality earbuds. Cheap earbuds are just garbage.

I am a Android fan 100% as my main phone is Honor 10 and my secondary is huawei p20 lite, but I own Samsung Gear Icon X and Google pixel buds but Apple's Airpods are actually the best ones when it comes to convenience and quick access. Apple usually have overpriced and shitty products (sorry apple fans) but the Airpods are pure gold!

I guess the "point" of the translate feature is this: Suppose you are speaking to someone who speaks a language that not only you've never heard of, but you can't even begin to comprehend what they're saying, and that their characters in their language are not of the common English language alphabet. The buds can not only understand what they say, but print it out and translate it for you. Considering the relative accuracy and the fact that Google will probably work on the functionality for a long time, I say it's a nifty and useful feature.

Google could make the translation functionality way better if they added a way to use it without your phone out... Maybe add a gesture to "activate" Google translate so you can just keep your buds in and have no need to even pull out your phone.

As a happy Sony SBH70 user I was intrigued (no in ear rubber, neckband, good and many control options, battery life and a similar design) but the 180€ price tag is just too much. It's not that much better than a what I got and mine cost 40€ a year ago. At least those kind of Bluetooth headsets are getting more popular so they can upgrade Bluetooth technology so it's less shitty. I hate it whenever I call or use the mic the sound quality gets much worse and unusable for anything other than low quality calls. They need to change that asap. It's especially annoying if you want to use discord and game with the Bluetooth headset, you only can output the game with the extremely bad call output.

Manmohan gill Think you’d be waiting a long time for that scenario 😀 Though they really do nothing the phones can’t already do there is a reason for this translation being hyped. Without that ‘killa’ feature these would be nothing different to the sea of Bluetooth headphones with a cord that are already sold. They’re not innovative like AirPods.

My JAM Transit Buds (simple Bluetooth buds) fit just like the Pixel Buds around the neck and have 3 physical buttons on the right ear (volume up and down, pause/play). The pause/play button launches Google Assist on your phone when held down. Holding down the volume buttons act as next and previous when held down. They charge by standard micro USB through the right ear directly (no need for a special case); they have small magnets on each bud that snap together when worn around the neck. They come with around-the-ear clips and various sized ear hole rubbers for active wearing. Even though they're plastic built, they're durable and only about $30! I'm not paid by JAM, but I love them enough to speak well of them so people know they don't have to pay premium top Apple and Google prices for reliable tech. Take care.

Rather than have that finicky system to keep the bud in your ear, why didn't Google just make the cable come out the top of the earbud so that you rapped the cable behind your ear? Cable-behind-ear is by far the most secure way to wear earbuds. that is the one thing I would change about these earbuds.

Even when I had an iPhone 5s and now an LG G6, I still prefer to use bluetooth headphones. I tried ones that looked like a clone of Beats that I enjoyed a lot, sounded good. They went in your ear and had hooks that went on top of your ears to help hold them in. They had a 6 hour battery life. Then I got a pair that went around your neck and claimed to have a battery life of 14 hours but lasted for like 3 days on one charge. I got another set of headphones that went around your neck but were LG branded and they also sounded good but had more of a 10 hour battery life. With all of these headphones, the right earbud would either stop working or get extremely quiet compared to the other earbud. After one broke I bought a new pair and loved them until they broke. Now I'm using some cheap wired Skull Candy earbuds until I can get some money together and buy another pair of bluetooth headphones.

The guy in the Google keynote made me feel like I was watching an episode of The Drs. I like when people do comparisons but it’s something kind of annoying in the tech review community. Focusing on the product and only the product saves time and lets people have singular focus on the type of consumer they are. If the Buds worked perfectly fine in connectivity with an iPhone, then I can see why a comparison in products is necessary.

I got a pair of those AUKEY green ones that Linus reviewed as being "almost as good" as the air pods considering their low price. Press and hold to pair with a device, listen for 4-5 hours at full volume. Great bit of kit for £12

They should have NFC. I have a 3 year old pair of Sony bluetooth headphones with NFC. The pairing is extremely simple and works every time.
