Tbh the AirPods Max are good af, I just hate the mesh and they way they smell if you sweat excessively the whole year. So just go with the Beats Studio pros they sound similar, that’s why I sold my AirPods Max cause I hate the mesh and the cups so I’m going to buy some beats this time

Bought my AirPods Max and while I liked them more they had nothing but software problems and eventually broke just after warranty ran out. Sold em broken and used the money to buy the Studio Pros and they are much better and way cheaper.

I wonder if that means a 2nd Gen AirPods Max are coming soon. I've tried both and I still lean towards the AirPods but I am so nervous about taking them out due to the build and no way to fold them up. I use the AirPods Max at home and the Beats Studio Pro on the go. I got the AirPods Max on a discount though so if you can find one, it's worth it. Not everyone is going to have the money or want to spend so much on headphones to have both but I have justified the use cases.

how are they? i’ve tried my friends airpods max and i really fw them. the sound quality and bass is amazing but i just don’t know if they’d be worth spending $150 more when i can just get the beats.

One thing I think goes over ppl’s heads is the ability to have lossless audio. The Beats brand is second to AirPods in terms of the amount of features Apple includes so the fact that they included lossless audio with Beats is pretty much confirmation that the next AirPods Max should be coming with full Hi-Res Lossless capability.

I’m almost positive Apple is going to update the Max during iPhone event or a website release soon. If not, it makes me wonder if they are deciding to get out of the over the headphone market on the Apple side and focus on AirPods. Remember we have no data on how well the Max’s are selling.

I hear you, but Apple is rarely in a hurry to update certain products. Sometimes certain Mac models can sit for 2+ years not updated (current iMac, MacBook Air in the past, and I think AirPods). So, I wouldn't be surprised if they updated in the Fall nor surprised if they waited another year after that, while still staying in the market.

It's not the weight that makes headphones comfortable. The Koss Portapros are really light, but they HURT my ears. I easily wear my Airpods Max for 12-14 hours a day with glasses and have zero issues with comfort.

I’d love to know how the ANC compares to each other. That’s the only real reason to buy over ear headphones anymore. And beats has lossless audio where AirPods Max does not.

I hear a difference in lossless but I’d still choose the AirPods Max for listening on the go and don’t want any wires. I have my own headphones (sennheiser hd800s, Akg k712 pro, sundaras) specifically for lossless listening that I only do at home.

I tried the Max in the Apple Store.. my honest opinion is the noise cancellation is VERY strong which is great for traveling, however they aren’t loud enough for me… I never had a volume issue with beats Beats noise cancellation is just as strong and are a better product for just under 200 bucks

Ordered both the studio pro and the max and I’m definitely not impressed with the studio pros still that cheap feeling and it doesn’t stop when you take them off and even the sound quality doesn’t even compare to the max’s. For 2023 releases the Beats Studio pro definitely is a let down would definitely stick to the max.

Not really, though. It’s a must have for prize but i you want it, you buy it. These are solid contenders on sound-design-ANC. These headphones are oriented for different public as it’s cheaper than max, and cross-platform friendly on IOS-Android unlike Sony’s xm5 for example.

I'll wait for the AirPods Max 2. Have always heard that the Beats are bass heavy. I also know the history of them being kind of a meh headphones, which is why they bounced around a few companies until Apple bought them. Which I'm sure Apple has improved them a lot since then, but I'm still just not interested in them.

I've used airpods max since January 2021 almost every day at work at my desk and occasionally the gym. I got over how heavy they felt after about 2 weeks because I've previously used Beats, Sony, Jabra, and Bose. Those weren’t as comfortable as airpods max. Apple’s grip harder and are heavier but they are also the only ones that don't cause soreness after 3+ hours of wearing them. Airpods max never made my head or ears sore. To my surprise, my airpods max died last week. The only reason I can think of causing them to break was that they got some moisture inside them once and I didn't discover it till a couple days later (then I dried them), but that was more than a year ago that they had moisture, so I don't know why they died now. And they were out of warranty. Apple would replace them for $300 out of warranty and for free under warranty. I needed a replacement quickly and I didn't want to pay full price. After shopping and researching for a few days, I ordered another pair of airpods max that were only used a couple times on Mercari for $250. They're 99.9% as good as new for a price that’s really competitive with the other headphones, like Beats’ or Sony’s. I do wish there was an airpods max v2 available at this time, but I need headphones at work and I can't wait for that. And for what it's worth, airpods max sound better than all the competitor's that I've used and don't hurt my head or ears whatsoever even when worn for more than 7 hours.

Open the ear muffs and check to see if there are tiny holes after taking the muffs off. If no tiny holes, then you got a fake one

@@Turtlemilk yeah I was able to tell that the new pair from Mercari was fake from the materials, didn't need to check under the ear cups. The cans were plastic rather than aluminium. I've started a return and I'm sending them back today. Still not giving up on finding a deal, though.

I went with the studio pro because they are $170 at the moment due to black Friday deals. The airpods max I feel are not worth it due to most likely new airpods max will come out next year or the following. Also the airpods max don’t fold which is a big downside. I’ll use my studio pro and wait until a new airpods max releases.

The beats studio pro charge with USB C. I have the beats studio pro and they are great. Not sure if they sound better than the airpods max because I don't own them. However, I refuse to pay that much for headphones (they are as expensive as an iPad!). I actually had the money available for them this summer and chose an ipad instead. Furthermore, I hate that the airpod max are so heavy and they have no off button and a stupid case. They don't fold so I wouldn't have a way to store them. Overall I found the beats studio pro to be a better choice for me. They have spacial audio, ANC and transparency mode! They are very comfortable and pair easily. Love them! Even better they are my Christmas gift! 🎉 I also own other older beats and they all still work and sound great. Beats makes decent quality items. They are all more portable than the airpod max. If they don't fold I don't want them! I haven't had headphones that don't fold since back in the day before Bluetooth 😂.

Pretty terrible reasoning for choosing the Beats over the Max at the end there lmao. Seems like a lazy recommendation from someone who has not actually been using the AIrPods Max. They might be heavier, but they are designed in a way to feel way more comfortable, and the lack of an off button is such a non-issue. I don’t even use the ugly bra case and it hasn’t been a problem.

Some of these things are irrelevant to me. Anything lasting for more than 20 hours is plenty. Beats could have 100 hours and I wouldn't care. I had the order version and the plastic cracked so I know the build quality blows. I don’t care about USB-C either. Don’t care about adaptive audio because I am not walking around outside near a jackhammer with either of these. I’ll never plug these into headphones jack either. These aren’t studio quality headphones . And 200 dollar difference is really 100 because you can get the AirPods Max for 449.00 now. So AirPods Max have better sound, way better build quality and better ANC. Yes they are heavy but I don’t walk around with them on anyway. I don’t have an Android device either. So, I really see no benefit in terms of what I would be looking for. I would buy the Sony 1000x-m5 or whatever they are called before these as I am sure they would blow them out of the water. These should be 299.00 max. Or 249.00.
