I owned one for several yrs. The plane is a tank, you feel very secure in it. Great off field performance, easy to fly.

Maybe it's the meds, but I can't watch this one without crying! In the 1960's, Civil Air Patrol Cadets from Astoria Squadron used to be taken out to Zahn's field on Long Island, where we took turns flying in the Navion we had there. On one occasion, Plotsky leaned forward and said, "Sir, is there any regulation that says we have to fly straight and level?" Plotsky was accommodated: I didn't like it, but the bird herself minded not one bit. Today, I only am reminded of how lucky I was / am.

Memories .My Pa. sqdn. had 2 Beech T-34s in the late 50s. Got rid of them and got a L-16😞

Very nice. I'm very fortunate to have logged 750hrs in a A model Navion. Wonderful airplane.

Nice full-flaps landing! Navions weigh almost a ton empty but they touch down gently at 48 mph.

Gorgeous well-behaved bird, and very sturdy construction but... I guess only about 2,500 ever built, most BEFORE 1950, ergo, not often seen around... pity.

There used to 5 or so in a yard in Putnam Ct, all in Vietmanese markings ( i think ) right at 12 and 44 . They all disappeared, hopefully NEAM or such is building one from the pile.

I do believe it was sold to a man in New Jersey which may possibly sell it again

Been binging aviation porn :-0, this is the airport from the psrt of the vid with the right way to take off, as in tail flying so the rudder is in the slipstream. The rest of the vid is what happens when the tail stays down and you try and steer with just the brakes. Ps awesome engine sound.
