(Airsoft) Armorer Works Hi-Capa 6 Inch Dragon (HX2201)

Welcome! Thanks for checking out my gun.
This is the second Hi-Capa that Armorer Works has produced and they have seriously kept up their standards. With the "dragon" style design, the gun is reliable, steady and just awesome to shoot.
I also got the AW scope mount, which lets you put on a standard C-More sight on the gun, turning it immediately into an open division race gun! Note that no drilling was required because the frame already had holes drilled into it. How convenient!

A couple questions...can this run co2 mags? And if so can it run the emg 30 rounds? I have a emg combat master and i really love this gun but im only wanting it if it can share co2 mags.

Really split between the AW HX1104 or this gun. My main concern is the size of the HX2201. Is the size of the HX2201 too big? Like would the smaller HX1104 feel more comfortable. I have average sized hands and I would mostly be using the one I choose for CQB. Which of the two do you recommend?

If it's for CQB, I'd go with the HX1104, as you'll turn corners easier. Performance-wise, they'll be similar, as the internals are the same. The HX2201 is 1 inch longer, so it'll be a bit more head heavy and also shoot a bit stronger. At the end of the day though, it also matters which one you think looks better!

Thanks! Didn't do an in-depth accuracy test, but I feel like it's something that can be improved. The grouping is definitely wider than the TM Hi-Capa 5.1. I would suggest upgrading the inner barrel.

I just bought one, i love it! - but when i came home i noticed that the gripsafe malfunctions ie, you dont have to keep it in for the gun to fire -- it fires wheather i press it in or not, dont know if i will contact the shop - i did not get any rail with it -- greetings, Levi from Finland

I think the rail is an separate accessory that you have to buy. As for the grip safety, if you are not planning to contact the shop / don't mind taking the gun apart (note: this might void warranty), you can try to bend the left-most spring back on the three leaf spring, as that is the one that controls the grip safety.

Looking for an upgrade to my old WE. Thing I hated about that gun is it's gas consumption. Had severe trouble clearing a mag of about 26 rounds. Would you say this gun would be a worthy upgrade? I want to find a high end sidearm to go with my Krytac.

If you want high gas efficiency, it would be safer to go with a Tokyo Marui pistol. Try the hi capa (and then upgrading it with aftermarket parts) if you want a high end sidearm!

tkn27 That might not be a bad option, but aren't Tokyo Marui pistols all plastic? I kind of would like something that's a little more sturdy than that.

Yes, they are. That's why it's best to get aftermarket parts to beef up its durability.

I got mine from a local retailer. The rail is from Armorer Works, you can try to find it from stores that carry their products.

Maybe you can try pulling the left most prong on the three leaf spring back a bit (towards direction of beaver tail). Please be cautious and do so at your own risk though! the three leaf prong is quite sensitive and can really affect the performance of your gun.

No, it is not threaded, so you won't be able to attach a suppressor or compensator to it. Maybe you can look into the non split slide hi capa style pistols from AW, you should be able to add an aftermarket threaded outer barrel on those.

You have to take the whole sight off. Unscrew the flat screw on the rear sight. If you're having trouble, it also helps to remove the blowback unit/housing.

It really is a tough choice...I think it'll come down to plastic slide or metal slide. Don't forget to also consider the aftermarket upgrades!

+tkn27 it's going to be my first pistol so I have no clue what difference it makes being metal or plastic slide. I would say I prefer metal. But I know TM runs well on green gas but not sure about this one.

Plastic slide will be snappier and has better gas efficiency. Metal slide will be more durable and will sound better. You can always choose to get an aftermarket slide for the Hi-Capa (there are tons to choose from) though.

What's a good hi capa to start off with i mostly play cqb and I've been looking at TM, AW, and WE so far, any recommendations?

It really depends on what you are looking. TM would be best in general; it's reliable and easily becomes one of the best pistols on the market once upgraded. AW is a good entry level full metal option, if you don't like plastic slides or don't want to buy a metal slide upgrade for your TM. WE would be the cheapest of the three, and also a full metal option.

in term of accuracy how this compare to kjw? I just bought a 6.01 inner an hop up combo made by armorer work to replace my standard kjw 1911 inner and hop up because it cheap

one more question, do you think army 1911 can withstand heavy usage? I plan to but a kimber 1911 from army because John Wick use a kimber in his film

Most of the time you get what you pay for, so the Army 1911 won't do very well under heavy usage. If you're looking for durability, the best would be an aftermarket Kimber kit with Tokyo Marui 1911 internals. However, if you're not gonna put it through heavy use, the Army 1911 is great for it's price, especially since if something breaks, you can just get a replacement pretty easily.

I'd go with Army, but it's just personal preference. If you have a higher budget, you can try to look for Kimber conversion kits by companies like Nova, Hurricane, Pro-win or even a complete custom one by Mafioso Arms or Ghost Island.

If you're fine with a replica, look for element seemore red dot sight. If you're picky and want one that is very top notch, go for the real steel CMORE sight.

Not with that setup, but with 0.25g BBs, green/top gas in ~ 24C/75F, it's around 1.24 joules or 328 FPS

Yes, the sight rail does not affect fitting on the ghost holster, as it only latches onto the area around the trigger on the grip.

They feel quite similar when shot; after all, the inner parts are virtually the same. So it all comes down to looks, size and whether you prefer the option of easily mounting a scope.

I think it depends on which part. For example, the UAC hammer should work fine (I swapped in a CP hammer and it worked without any mods). But a UAC rear sight will not fit as it uses a different system.

I'm based in Hong Kong. The barrel is 6" (1 inch longer than the Hi-Capa 5.1) and the tightbore is extends to the tip of the gun.

It's just like removing any other hi caps slide! Just pull the slide back until the first nudge on the left slide of the slide lines up with the end of your slide catch, then push the slide catch out from the right side (or carefully stick ur finger in the ejection port and push it out). After that push the slide forward.
