This was very helpfull for me since I am pretty new with GBBRs. I have yet to use my Daniel Defense MK18 GBBR in the winter time, but thanks to you my gun is not only more gas efficient but it chronos low enough (with the weaker hammer spring) to take to all of my local indoor areanas. P.S. I think that it is very funny at 6:16 when you talked about how HPA is better in cold, because it sounded like something that I would fail on my science test.
@ExplosiveEnterprises Жыл бұрын
Glad to hear you found the guide useful! Just to be clear, though, a weaker hammer spring should not have any effect on your FPS- your rocket valve in the nozzle is what dictates power, not the hammer. If the power has gone down, check to make sure you haven't accidentally introduced any leaks in or around the barrel. Otherwise, if you've installed a shorter inner barrel or swapped the rocket valve, that would explain it.

Another amazing video! These guides you’re making are incredible man. Can’t wait for the next one! 👏👏 I was kind of surprised you didn’t mention a tighter inner barrel and an NPAS though. A tighter inner barrel means that you need less gas to get to an appropriate pressure right? I’ve had moments where my gun barely cycled but the BB flew straight a true after installing a 6.01 inner barrel. But if you do that and then add the higher pressure gases, you’ll defs be shooting too hot (in most cases).So the NPAS is kinda essential. Otherwise it’s kinda hard to “tune” the replica for winter right? I run tight bores in all my GBBR’s except for the AUG and I feel that it improves the efficency quite a bit. Am I just imagining this? 😅 I’ve also done the other modifications though except for the trigger. Thanks again! 👊
@ExplosiveEnterprises2 жыл бұрын
A tighter inner barrel is a solid way to boost your muzzle velocity a bit, though with 6.01 you do need to be more careful about keeping it clean. But in our testing, the difference in efficiency between tuning an NPAS to 1J or 2J is negligible. Basically, the amount of energy being imparted to the BB is irrelevant compared to the amount of energy needed to cycle. However, there are two exceptions we've run into. The first is that if the rocket valve spring is so strong (or NPAS geometry so unfavorable) that it closes late or never actually closes, it will release excess gas and may keep emitting gas even while the carrier cycles, which really kills gas efficiency and makes the blowback feel soft. The other is if you're using an adjustment system like a grub screw in the nozzle, FG-Airsoft LFS disc, or other FPS-reduction method that restricts the nozzle instead of the rocket valve, then the backpressure these create can similarly delay the rocket valve closing and negatively affect efficiency. In that case, though, the efficiency gets better the less you restrict it, which is the opposite of what you're describing. All that said, different systems and different combinations of parts can have unpredictable effects, so if you're seeing the best consistency with a tightbore then keep doing what you're doing.

@@ExplosiveEnterprises Are you talking about the RA-Tech NPAS ? How about the homemade NPAS mod ? @ExplosiveEnterprises2 жыл бұрын
@@MargiAirsoft Homemade NPAS mod is fine. Adjusting where the rocket valve sits (with a grub screw), or adjusting its inner diameter, effectively adjusts FPS without having negative effects on efficiency or cycling. It's when you adjust FPS by obstructing the nozzle that you can run into trouble.

For now I‘ll just stick to cleaning and regreasing the basic parts as you showed but I definitely plan to clean that entire thing once I know how ^^. Oh and last question I ordered green and red gas from nuprol which unfortunately does have silicone oil in it. I found your channel too late to know that this is actually a bad thing because it gets into parts you don‘t want to. Would you advise me to go and buy propane instead of the nuprol gas so silicone oil doesnt even get into the „bad“ parts of the new gun or is it fine if I empty the two bottles, then clean it and only use propane in the future so the money for those bottles wouldn’t be wasted. Cheers!

@@MercutioUK2006 Much appreciated- and to make it even less useful, keep in mind that different gases may have different pressure/temperature curves. So, even if a gas is advertising 200 PSI at room temperature, it's entirely possible it could actually produce /less/ pressure than propane when you take it down to freezing. If the manufacturer won't tell you exactly what's in it, the only way to know is to test. We wish it weren't so opaque, but at least with propylene/MAPP you know exactly what you're getting.

@ExplosiveEnterprises2 жыл бұрын
You mean because the AUG mag HPA connectors are on hoses, rather than directly replacing the fill valves? Yeah, we're aware; it's a necessary evil for this particular setup (these are actually custom-made hicaps, not just tapped gas mags) to keep the valves accessible and avoid blocking the magazine release. If you check out our video on how the mags were made, it might make more sense.

Co2 for GBB guns is actually better than green gas, it can easily pull heavy realistic full metal slides and is way more compact to carry a few cartridge compared with one big green gas tank.. For Co2 you should also add silicone lubrication on the insert to increase longevity of gun, or buy special capsules that have silicone oil in them and use that after every 10 normal cartridge.. It is just way more consistent, the fps decrease is not so bad like green gas and it just works better in all climates.. For green gas to be efficient you need them less realistic half slide guns.. I have seen colt 1911 work years on end with co2 and they did not break at all.. Overall having GBBR is fun and all, but in the end blowback is less accurate and to be competitive in airsoft games AEGs are actually allround more superior and even better than HPA.. AEGs can have really nice sound and keeps the realism somewhat without connecting hose and paintball tanks.. GBB is only really needed to have in the sidearm and co2 would be my choice of gas for sure and for the main a full spec custom AEG would be worthy.. As for collector, training and heavy maintenance lovers GBBR has some value.. When it comes to backyard plinking, I know for sure my neighbor would rather hear an AEG than GBBR that is way to loud and less stealth also for in games..
