That' the intrigue of Airsoft. Unlike something like a nerf war(which is usually backyard games with 3 friends) Airsoft uses realistic guns and gear as a way to "be a soldier, but not at the same time"(think playing outside RP) Another thing that Airsoft beats Nerf in is performance. The avergae Nerf blaster gets around 70 fps unmodded(with max being 100-120 in Nerf RIVAL) Airsoft Guns, however, have the luxury of having universal ammo(BB's with slight variations in weight) which leads to replica style guns being made (think stuff like the Ak-47) which function nearly identical to there IRL counterparts. That's not to say that ALL airsoft guns are great though. Springers still exist in Airsoft, and most of them are crap compared to Gas/AEP guns(see UKARMS)

So let me get this straight... You took down a LOT of guys to infiltrate an enemy-infested village. You FINALLY get caught, but manage to get kept as a POW instead of being killed. You actually escape from the village by jumping out of a window. You found teammates and got to use the minigun on the way back to base. The rules are they tap your weapon with a hand and you are incapable of using them, meaning more or less "They've taken them" :-)

Rules from Berget Event site: The weapon... should always be within the prisoners sight. If the prisoner escapes or is released, they may not use their weapon until five minutes later. It is not allowed to take an enemy weapon to use. A prisoner can not use knife kills but knockouts may still be used.

They do but they do extensive backgrounds checks on you before even considering to let you purchase a gun. Even then, you have to store them in a certain way, use them in a certain way too. It's Australia (where I live) that's the worst. They ban airsoft an real guns. Paintball is fine but it has to be at a paintball centre
