Airsoft game would be cool where everybody is using a wooden looking bolt action rifle.

So WWI? That would be badass, I know that VSR-10's have been converted to Lee-Enfields and that S&T and G&G makes a Springfield. The problem with that is that the only Triple Alliance bolt action I know exists in airsoft form is the are the shell ejecting DBoys K98K and the G&G K98K that runs off of 8g (NOT 12g) CO2 cartridges. Now if you're not limiting yourself to WWI stuff, your options expand to the Mosin-Nagants and the S&T Arisaka. Past that, there's a whole boatload of options I don't know of. There's probably an airsoft R700 for all I know.

Fit Fam A terrible idea 10 times out of 10. BB's could probably get stucm near the wheel and would send you into a faceplant. Even in the staging area it would be a bad idea because no matter how clean you think it is, there's always a bb to be swept up.

I went straight to the sniper class before getting a dmr. I actually enjoy the sniper gameplay since I'm always the scout sniper on my team, so I get the forward missions. More engagements, more tactics involved for evasion & infiltration. I got the dmr just incase i need to switch roles due to teammate illness or injury. Got to say I prefer the scout sniper over designated marksmen.

Saying that a DMR has to be .30 caliber is nonsense in the real world. A Mk12 SPR was designed as a semi-auto precision rifle. Ie, exactly what a Designated Marksman might choose to use. .308 rifles can give some extra range, but it's not a requirement. DM is a role, not a rifle.
@abelbabel8484
@abelbabel8484 7 жыл бұрын
Good point, I never thought of that - do you happen to know whether sites and events that require airsoft DMRs to be based on real life DM rifles would accept an Mk12 SPR? Or do they insist on the M14s and SR25s and SVDs and 417s, yknow, replicas of the full size rifle caliber platform?
@Turgz
@Turgz 7 жыл бұрын
Aaron B. A DMR does in fact have to be .30 cal because squad level marksmen are there to increase the firing range of a squad since everyone else is using 5.56mm. That's the whole point in the squad marksman to increase a squad's range, not to achieve 1st round hits like a sniper. A Mk12 is used by snipers, not DM. It's used to take very accurate shots at up to 400m and the shooter is usually apart of a larger team.

I would say if you want a gun that's accurate out of the box see if you can pick up a krytac for under 300, they have good hopups and buckings, or get a shop to upgrade a cheaper gun to be more accurate(maybe 30ish for tech work, 10 for a bucking, 25 for a hopup, and if you want a nice barrel(which isn't that important for accuracy) it would be like 50ish)

All AEGs are pretty much identical inside. Key to long range is consistent gun performance and heavy BBs. What you're looking for is a nice and solid platform with a stiff body and barrel assembly (flex in either can kill your accuracy) and a barrel length of between about 380mm and 450mm - that allows you to make good use of a full volume cylinder which gives you enough moving air per shot for nice and heavy BBs (0.3g or .32g). Bullpup models, if you can put up with one, are a good way to get that barrel length into a compact, easily handled package. For internal work you'll want to make sure the compression in your gun is as perfect as you can get it (o-ring on the piston head, aftermarket airseal nozzle) and that the hopup is aggressive enough to properly lift the heavier BBs. I hope this helps a bit. If you have any questions about something I said or something other, feel free to ask. :)

Is it a bad idea to waterproof spray my chest rig/plate carrier?
@tnpsheepdog3289
@tnpsheepdog3289 7 жыл бұрын
Depends on your philososphy of use. Some real world guys spray paint their web gear but then again, it is not their property. I can think of two reasons why you would want to waterproof kit, 1. You don't want it to get water logged while playing in snow or rain, and 2. You don't want body odor to imbed itself in the fabric. For 1, I would say forget it, when your done playing, just hang to dry. For 2, I would also say forget it because there is a product by combat hygiene that you can use to de ordorize kit. Hope this helped!

Another "sniper" question! I have a gbb m4 rifle I wanted to pick another one up and put a longer tight bore barrel in it for longer range "sniper minded gameplay" biggest reason for sticking with the gbb m4 is mag compatibility
@Boberation
@Boberation 7 жыл бұрын
Here's my personal experience with a dmr. I purchased a rifle length ICS TransforM4 for right at $300, we (local airsoft store) then proceeded to install an ics overbore kit, the MA-56 Gearbox F which includes new aluminum parts as well as a thinner cylinder to increase the air capacity and spring ($64). Then installed a ~9in suppressor($20) to just barely fit the 590 barrel($30) in it. I run an 11.1 lipo 30amp and deleted the fuse box due to the fact that the wiring came out on the first game I played with it. Accessories include a lancer tactical 1.5-5x40 sight ($110) and an extendable spring loaded bipod ($20-25). In total $510-520 was spent building a dmr that shoots around 200ft or so at 381-384fps and weighing on the heavier side of 13-15 pounds. In my opinion this was fairly easy and a good rifle to start out with as a dmr if you can stand the weight due to the quality of ICS OEM parts and how little was truly required for this gun to perform well. Although I wouldnt recommend a 590 barrel as 550 is the max that it should be taken to which I shall install soon with the rhop as well as a flat hop.

Hey Jonathon. This is probably a really dumb question, especially considering I've been playing for over 7 years being both a weekender and sponsored. What exactly is a Hi capa? Are they just blinged and modded 1911? Or Is there more to the magic? I love the show, thanks.

As everybody else stated above. It is same old 1911, just better internally and externally. Also with plenty available upgrades and it is probably only one gun which can build completely from aftermarket parts. I have AW split slide Hi-Capa(+extended magazines, quite few upgrades), absolute fun to use and is perfect for CQB'S or SpeedCQB where they are mainly used(HPA/Co2/green gas)

After about a year of playing I went straight for the sniper role picking up a TM VSR 10 G-Spec, it sucked at first but I knew the potential it had so I saved up money for a Novritsch tuning kit and it payed off big time. Now I'm dominating people from distances they didn't even think they could be hit at and it's so much more satisfying when you land that shot on a person at range. I'm curious though, is it better to buy an upgrade kit, or source the parts individually yourself? It seems a lot of people do this on the VSR 10 owners page on facebook, but it also looks like they run into more issues with compatibility.

@josiahs9559 7 жыл бұрын
For an AEG I don't think weather would effect it too much, unless it is super extreme cold. As for a GBB they do not do too well in the cold, just test it out, maybe try several different types of gasses or even C02 or hpa, and if you have too many issues with your pistol in the cold either don't use a pistol, or get an AEP for a sidearm

Better hop up unit, Prowin or krytac will do the trick. Better hop up bucking, prometheus, krytac, or my favorite that is in my barrel setup G&G green bucking. And finally a new inner barrel. Prometheus and PDI are the best but also cost the most. Id say go Madbull if your looking for 20-40$ Prometheus for 40-60$. And PDI for 60-100$

@LifeWorthEditing
@LifeWorthEditing 7 жыл бұрын
David Cerven if youre a beginner, go with aeg. if you have a lot of money to spend AND have experience, go with the gbb. the gbb is not necessarily better, its all preference. gbbs typically have lower mag capacities, so if you’re a full auto player, aeg will be more your speed. gbbs are for those who want more realism, but be prepared to spend a lot on mags.
@Sanshirobo
@Sanshirobo 7 жыл бұрын
If you're just starting out, an AEG is the way to go. It's cheaper in every regard and usually supports higher mag capacities. I'd reccomend a GBB only to someone who knows they'd be willing to put in the money and time playing with it to make it worth the purchase.

hey idk if you know this,but dmr's dont *need* to be a larger caliber. they are most of the time but they do not *need* to be a larger caliber. there are a few armies that use the m16 platform for making their dmr's(israel and a few others,cant remember the others though) the only reasons why bigger caliber's are used more commonly is because of the bullets range and accuracy,but most encounters dont really go past effective range on even a mk12(which is a 5.56 spr,and the line between spr and dmr is very fin,its comes down to barrel length) and from the info i gathered,the mk12 can hit targets with relative ease at 800 yards and reported kills at 1000 yards,the m4 carbine's effective range is 546 yards. the m16's effective point target range is 602 yards the m110 (which is a DMR on 7.62) has a effective point target range of 874 yards. there is no legitimate reason to say that a dmr has to be higher caliber,none,

Hello John. I was wondering if you would know why my gun will simply stop firing in semi auto. When this happens it requires me to swish to full auto, fire a few bursts and then switch back. Would you know what the cause of this is and how I could fix this. thanks
@jpruedisueli5232
@jpruedisueli5232 7 жыл бұрын
Sounds a lot like what would happen to my Lancer Tactical m4. This would occur if I was using an 8.4v battery (which was too weak for the 400fps spring) or if my battery was close to dead. Also, shooting in semi might not fully rotate the gears with each trigger pull. Going to full auto and shooting allows it to complete a rotation so that you can continue firing semi. To fix, definitely make sure you are using a 9.6v and when firing semi auto with a slow trigger response gun, make sure the gears fully rotate before each trigger pull. Hope this helps a little!
@dominikwagner7810
@dominikwagner7810 7 жыл бұрын
This is called "gear jam" and can happen quite often if you shoot really fast in single fire. You could use an 11.1 lipo to get higher fire rate and reduce the time the gun needs between shots, but you can also just shoot a little slower.

@josiahs9559
@josiahs9559 7 жыл бұрын
Personally blowback isn't my thing, it just makes a gun less reliable, it is more stress on the GB, and just another thing to break on your gun.

I have a G&G electric blowback, it's held up to about 5 years of playing every other Sunday and some backyard plinking.

It's kinda cool, but in my opinion a net negative. It's additional failure modes and additional work when tinkering with the gearbox. I've had a gun in for repair where the blowback mechanism failed, blocked the piston and two gears stripped. I'm not really a fan of EBB.

Hey Jonathan, I live in Hong Kong and space is a commodity, hence maps are very small (40-60m end to end for outdoor fields), don't have many places to sneak without being seen. We play with between 20-30 people and I find the lack of space really hinders tactical play. Any tips on tactics for that? Thanks! Jonathan (Best name ever)

I think winter is the best time to play airsoft it’s easier IMO to stay warm playing airsoft because gloves plus bdu’s and a shirt under them plus boots and high socks a mask/balaclava plus chest rig it’s easier to stay warm than it is to stay cool I mean I just played this Sunday we had 22 people or so and it was below freezing and on top of that there was 10mph wind but you didn’t even really notice

If you train with them both then weight really wont matter. I run a L96 sniper & Remington 12 gauge on weekend games, 1-1 weight scale but i dont really feel it since I've trained with both guns.

Coconut Gamer get a good sling system so your guns are not flying around as you run. I think most people avoid the two gun set up because of the inconvenience of that second gun getting in the way. Once you figure out that, you should be good.
@Sanshirobo
@Sanshirobo 7 жыл бұрын
Coconut Gamer I agree with Auslo. A full sized m4(even with a adjustable or folding stock) would probably add a lot of bulk. If you wan to use m4 mags you already have though, consider picking up something from the ARES Amoeba CC (CCP, CCR, CCC) line. I know a guy who ran a CCC as a compact primary and I could see something from that line working well as a compact secondary.

Should I save up my money and buy a BrainExploder 35mm RunCam with mount, (Love his products) or should I buy a RunCam without the zoom from the lens and just use editing to do the zoom? 35mm zoom one is about 250ish somewhere and the no zoom is 80ish.

Hi so I have a g36c but I was wondering if it's ok if you can put a 400 fps spring in a gun that originally shoots 350fps because I feel that it might wear the gun down because of more tension in the gun, but what do you think.
@abelbabel8484

Harder spring will always mean accelerated wear and tear, that's just physics. Depends on the condition and quality of your specific gun what that means exactly; what brand G36 do you have?

The original umarex/ares/hk g36's are pretty robust. I have an Ares G36 that shoots 450fps out of the box. One of the best guns I've had, when it comes to accuracy, internal and external parts. I also have a DBoy G36C (basically a copy of the umarex), which is wearing down so much faster. I wouldn't try to get the copy over 400fps, but the originals are easily capable of doing so.

I am guessing for parts, but I want to sell it at a field or something near by preferably Georgetown Airsoft. I had gotten it from a Evike Mystery box which I think the gun is broken. So should I sell it for parts with the stuff with it but with a decreased price or sell It for the total price it was cost?
