Cut a hole in the side of the cone attach a flange to it for the suction hose, run both continuously, as long as both digger and suction are at the same rate, the dig should be quicker and cleaner with less dust. Cut the hole at an angle to induce a vortex. Poke holes at the top of the cone for better pressure equalization. Sand bag the base of the cone.

a lot of equipment for a tiny hole, can you post a more convincing demo?

Not for the homeowner or diy'er. This is demonstrating potholing that is required of utility companies prior to digging. Not that much equipment for a tiny hole when you consider they may have to dig several potholes, each one several feet deep.

I could dig five holes in the time it took two guys with equipment to dig one. What do I have? A spade XD
