Hi ya, my 10,000 sub video covers my antennas if you’d like to take a look :) But for HF I’m using a home made EFHW :)

confused. I have Airspy HF+ Discovery running in SDR# on windows. Listening to HAM and shortwave. I thought the HF+ didn’t require an up converter but I only get signals if I connect the ham it up between my balun and the HF+. I I also have a spyverter which just arrived today and tinkering with the setup. Why would the Ham It Up render so many signals available while without its precious few.
@StorminNorvin3 жыл бұрын
You connect the antenna to the Airspy HF+ Discovery directly. Open SDR#, make sure you are using the HF+ option for Airspy (not just Airspy), click START/PLAY, and tune to a frequency it covers.

How does this cope with the dreaded pagers on 137 MHz they murder my Wx sats pics using a bog standard rtl device
@TechMindsOfficial4 жыл бұрын
I’ve never tested it that high, always use a NooElec or an airspy R2 or mini for WX :)
@frankcassidy76734 жыл бұрын
OK, thanks for that, I also use a mini for Wx sats but I have one pager frequency VERY close to NOAA 18 which really blocks the signal. I suppose I will just have to put up with it. 73's Frank

I have Bog rtl v3. Lots of harmonics inside it! This happens when you make a wideband radio. Great radio for the money but for $20 you only get so much. SDR is based on CHEAP hardware.

My SDRplay RSP1B has continuous coverage from 1 KHz to 2 GHz. There has been a lot of improvement in technology in the last 4 years. The RSP1B has a noise floor about -140 dBm. UK built beats China built again.

@@klubtahu4847 Why laugh? 'H' is called 'aitch'. There is no letter called 'haitch'. Autocorrect will show you the error when you try to call it 'haitch'. You should learn to call it 'aitch' when being taught the alphabet by any good teacher of standard English.

I am planning on getting one of these Discovery HF + SDR's as you suggested. I wonder if you could answer a couple of questions for me, please. Is it possible to split activity from the SDR via software, to have two or more time sharing active channels on the USB end of things? If I wanted to set up an ariel in the countryside along with the receiver and access over the internet, how feasible is this? Thanks.
@TechMindsOfficial4 жыл бұрын
You could use AirSpy Server, that would work.

What is the point of buying this device? Seems so useless. Give some ideas what you can do with this device that makes it worthwhile.

Literally watch any of my videos.. Of course you have to have an interest in radio to start with, or an internet in learning new tech.

I bought an early rtl sdr device, used it once and threw it in a drawer. Haven't used it since. It's cool to have a waterfall display to see activity on the band, but I would suggest you already need an interest in radio and either listening to or working distant or weak signals before something like this is of interest. I prefer a waterfall display that is NOT on my radio. I totally get where you're coming from, but I would say once an affordable option is presented that will allow full transmit capability so you can use something like this to turn your PC into a fully functional radio, it will be a game changer. I know it's basically what a flex-radio is, but when I say affordable, I mean a price point just above what prevents you from living under a bridge.
