Thanks for sending Brad&Pam my way to take my '78 Airstream off my hands. Perhaps they will bring you back for another appearance when they start working on it.

You are welcome! Oh maybe, they are getting it all figured out pretty well now!

I have a 1963 22 foot Avalair Coach. It has a few broken windows and the hot water heater probably burst. Additionally, the roof leaks. I am going to have to do the same thing.

Wow, amazing, what you've achieved in 3 days is worthy of an Oscar..... in fact that lazy vain lot should be humbled by your skills. Your family and parents must be so proud of what you can achieve in such a short time scale, 10 out10 to you. I'm old, ok 57 in a few days, and I've not come across many guys with your work ethic so top marks to you. An apprentice of mine in the UK was like you, did everything really well super fast, he went on to leave and live in CA, his first project was the refurb of the Las Vegas belagio fountains, a wet design project, he's a control systems engineer, you're like him my friend, full of skill and talent, I'm so jealous..... in a nice way 👍 Keep up the great work....... Remember you're helping make other people's dreams come true, how satisfying is that 👍

Unfortunately I don't think I could come out that weekend, I need to make sure and get the salon Airstream done this month.

Did they go with reflectix under the subfloor because they aren't putting any other insulation or will they also be putting in other insulation? And did you have to account for the extra thickness that adds by getting a thinner plywood? Did the reflectix also go into the c-channel?
@MillerGarage4 жыл бұрын
They will be putting additional insulation in as well. It did not fit in the channel, we had it go under the channel so it overlapped. Thats the one area I wasn't a big fan of with that. I don't see it being an issue but it just made fit a little more difficult.

Do you have a detailed video of lowering the shell onto the new floor and C channels?
@rpbishop30792 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, you didn’t show anything that was of much help to the viewer. You managed to bypass all of the important aspects, which in fact make things interesting and or usable. If your intent was to keep your technique and process proprietary, you did a good job.

This was a vlog about my trip and having fun with cool people. We have several free KZbin videos about subfloors and we also have a 3 hour in depth how to of subfloor replacement at www.airstreamu.com! I am all about sharing and helping people achieve their goals.

Enjoying your videos. Currently doing one myself and I feel maybe I got in over my head. Where do you purchase your curved front and rear c channels?

I plan to use this method to lift my body when I get the prep work done. One question I have, when you have the front piece of subfloor in and you move the front two pole jacks, what supported the body when these were moved?
@ChasingtheWildWonder4 жыл бұрын
Josh Atkins looks like he put some 2x4s under the front of the shell for it to rest on
@berthatheairstream36393 жыл бұрын
Did you use Reflectix in between the frame and subfloor, or something else? Also, where did you source the C channel from, please?
