The guy explaining all the do's & don'ts seemed knowledgeable & was very thorough. That said, I know I'd probably forget most of that stuff and end up ruining the dang trailer. 😱 So I've decided to put my Airstream dreams on hold, stay in a hotel, and call up room service instead. 🥳🍸👍

We don’t own an Airstream and they are just too pricey for us but watching Chris is really refreshing. With all the total idiots who work at RV dealers it’s really nice to listen to a guy who knows his stuff! Better give that man a raise to ensure he doesn’t get stolen by another Airstream dealer!

They're so cute and very well built. Unfortunately, they are also very expensive. I bought a silver cargo trailer at Trailers Plus in Reno for just over $2,000. I converted it the way I wanted. It is just as tough. It has steel-beam construction. I saved a lot of money, and it's just as cute. I call it the Little Airstream.

I love AirStream Trailers. My Aunt and Uncle had one when I was a little kid. This thing looked like a giant bullet. We even called her the BulletStreamer. They drove it throughout all the 48 states. They couldn't afford to take her to Alaska or Hawaii. My Cousin was given her when they passed away, and she is still on the road to this day. So if you see an old school bullet nosed AirStream with a large Rainbow on one side you may have seen her. Just yell out to the driver, "Hiya Bullet!".

this walk through is very thorough and he's clear in what he says without stumbling or having to think about what he's showing. Watching the video and listening to his cautions to keep in mind makes me feel the Airstreams are a bit to delicate and require careful attention to detail or as he says things can break or be ruined. I think for our needs and expectations when out in the wild we need something a bit more rugged and forgiving. Too bad Chris doesn't do walk through for every brand, he's make a great reference when comparing models.
@marzsit98332 жыл бұрын
unfortunately if you want something more rugged than an airstream, be prepared to spend 3 times as much money for the same size unit..

Very well done video, but so much wrong here starting with one small outside storage compartment, that horrendously complicated awning, no auto-leveling jacks, no auto-opening steps, USB charge ports behind the pillows with no storage or shelf (guess electronics lay on the bed?), the radio fills half a compartment, old style Dometic mercury thermostat, cheap microwave and stovetop, cheap manual 3 speed vent, and so on. So disappointing for the premium price; someone please correct these issues so we can place a Bambi back on our shortlist.....
@gmarie7013 жыл бұрын
Was shocked to see all the basic design flaws (suicide entry door hinge on left, just dying to be half closed and then fling open while at highway speed...) of which there are literally too many to list, (both water sources right above electrical port, waste tank dump system exposed by hanging out in the open, propane port in hard to reach location far from where it is needed, etc. etc.). Talk about resting on your brand name. Wow.

Would love it if it was more geared to solar power with a better battery bank, no propane and a diesel heater instead. Induction stove top is possible with a good solar system, as is an on demand water heater. No black tank is necessary if you have a composting toilet. If you have a small trailer like that it is more practical to have a toilet/shower combo unit and no extra bathroom sink. Use the kitchen sink! It is a nice trailer and would probably be even more expensive with the above modificaitons.

It is not that hard to do some research Ed if you are truly in the market for one. One thing I would add is any trailer states that it is 1/2 ton towable is to have a 3/4 ton tow vehicle. My trailer was stated as 1/2 ton towable but it was the scariest tow I had ever done. I now have a 2500 tow vehicle and truly feel safe (as well as knowing I am not overloaded while one the road... people always tend to overload both the trailer as well as the tow vehicle...

I’m sadly disappointed. I’ve been anxiously waiting for the 22. To many issues for me. Love the bathroom. Too small sleeping area for 2 people. That means converting the booth. No grandkids or guests either. Fridge is way to small. Not enough automatic conveniences for seniors. An automatic awning is essential for seniors.

SUCH a beautiful little trailer and I will probably never be able to afford one. One little thing that sorta annoys me... if they know that mud daubers like to make nests in there, why isn't that screen just standard on it instead of being extra $$. If I win the lottery... maybe... :)

I used to want an airstream but no more. So many known issues where the user can inadvertently damage the unit. If they knocked those out one by one I would be interested again.
@tigergreg82 жыл бұрын
Why wouldn't you want one of these, they are one of the best things out there. The one he showed is more of a bargain Airstream. Not everyone can afford one of these all decked out, but they are well made and designed well. I like that he adds an air of caution about certain features, and if not for someone like him, you'd buy it and screw it up it sounds. You have to have caution with everything you buy really, it's just a matter of taking care of it.
@HearturMind2 жыл бұрын
@@tigergreg8 Don’t get me wrong, that guy was great. I would totally want him to walk me through if I bought one. Just have used RVs where the door could be shut separately, and other ease of use things. Vent could rip off the roof. That sort of stuff. I had a very simple 1962 camper and there wasn’t much you could break or go wrong with. Vent metal, mushroom shape, aerodynamic. No bathroom though. Airstreams are super cute. I am just a tough customer. Cheers, mate.
